I think this is a decent point, but even though Stamkos' value compared to others might go down, wouldn't you agree that his value compared to his small ice surface self would increase?

I think Gaborik would benefit greatly, he seems to run out of space a lot of the time, and one of the main reasons he regained his former scoring pace this year was because he learned to grind and score dirty goals in front of the net, if he had more space he would be the same 40-50 goal scorer that he is, but he could use more of his natural skating and shooting skill instead of being a glorified grinder in torts' system.

I don't see much of a difference here.

There are players who would be better by themselves but I think by far it would make the sedins much much better and harder to play against. They're not particularly fast skaters, they're adequate. But their passing game would be so ridiculous and over the course of 60 minutes, it would make the opposition that much more tired chasing them around.

Worse: Iginla, Ovechkin, Chára

People are assuming that skilled and good-skating players would automatically become better on the big ice, I don't think it's that easy though. Forsberg was known to be better on the small ice for example.

Anybody think the NHL could go to the larger ice surface in an effort to cut down on head injuries?

I think this would be the case for a guy like Crosby. He's so much better than those around him because he can take advantage of the lack of space better than 99% of hockey players.
