If Nashville matches, they'll likely end up keeping him....especially if the contract is heavily front loaded. If you pay $26 million in the first year it'll be hard to just let him go after that huge chunk of money is out the door.

Interesting to hear the rumours of DET, SJS and NYR also heavily persuing Weber. Nothing about VAN. Seems like MG didn't even consider the offersheet route.
Like someone else said, I'm done with this defense by committee crap. It hasn't worked for the last couple of years and I don't see it working long term either. This team needs a bonafide #1 and with Weber being either a Flyer or a Pred, I don't see too many options out there.
2nd part of my post is the key. Had my doubts about Bieksa (given his bad/good moments - which were extreme in the opposite directions). He played better than Hamhuis (admittedly just my subjective opinion) this past season *overall*.
Glad to see someone telling the truth about Bieksa/ Hamhuis last year.
