He has quite a way to go, but his sembalance to Neids game is an excellent comparison imo.

This Gomez trade hurt the second it happened, and years after, it still sucks.

I love Pacioretty ... that kid is going to have a bright future.

It must hurt having to listen to Glenn Healy bring it up over and over. I thought it was just the Leafs he hated, but he just seems to be an easy person to dislike.

MDZ is an X 1st round pick who just had a 40 point season, he could be demanding a lot (after this season), and McDonough is getting pumped up by everyone as a top shutdown D man, if he continues this next year he could be demanding the same.

Its almost an embarrassment of riches for them haha. I hope they can get them all re signed, surely a great young D core (coming from a Bruins fan who hates the Rangers).

I think comparing him to Scott is a fair judgement. Nice job.

We will definitely get them re-signed. I have a feeling Sather will go hardball with MDZ though, but he will get it done.

One thing about Sather - he may overpay free agents, but he knows how to work with our RFAs.

Stralman isn't on a ELC, he's on a one year deal and honestly, while he has played pretty well, if he wants a huge raise then he can **** off. he's not indispensable on this team.

Also, Sauer might be done Dunno, there hasn't been any encouraging news about his recovery. Also also, he isn't on a ELC either, he signed a new deal last summer, but at any rate, he's not the kind of defenseman who commands a lot of salary anyways.

Two of them (Stralman and Sauer) are probably not in the team's long-term plans. Stralman has improved by leaps and bounds this year, but if he's given a deal of around $2mil per year by someone else then he can leave with best wishes. Sauer would be a core guy, but his concussion this year plus a long history of injuries would indicate that he'll never be a guy you can count on for a whole season.

Girardi and Staal are signed to cap-friendly deals (Staal at just under $4m through 2014-15 and Girardi at 3.325 through 2013-14), and Del Zotto and McD don't hit RFA status in the same year, so I have no concerns that they'll both be able to be extended without much damage to the overall cap.

Edit: And as the always-on-top-of-things Levitate pointed out, neither are on their ELCs.

Hes a RFA tho, like I said above.

I think theyll get re signed as well, like I said tho, MDZ could be asking for a lot, and if McDonough plays the same next year he coudl be asking for a lot as well.

Just food for thought, theyre a great unit nonetheless tho.

I thought Dubinsky deserved what he got in his contract. He just hasn't lived up to it this year. But if *****ing is what players have to do to not get underpaid, then everyone should *****.

I know Sather gets a lot of crap on these boards, but he deserves a lot of credit for assembling this team. They're loaded with talent that should contend for along time, barring injuries and losing a ton of players to free agency.

I'd sign another Gomez-esque contract if we can rob another team again.

Great player, really wish our idiotic management at the time hadn't traded him. Oh well, life goes on.

If the Habs do draft Ryan Murray, it would make up for McDonagh. Murray is going to be a stud and also wears #27.

Only if Gainey and Gauthier use incriminating photos of Geoff Molson to blackmail the Habs into rehiring them.
