WhooHoo Go Kings Go!!!!!!

So the Finals don't start until the 30th. That's a whole week the Kings will have off. Here's hoping that doesn't kill any momentum they have. They've had days off between series all playoffs, but I just can't forget what happened to the Sens when they had a week off prior to the finals.

What is it about making the Finals that brings out the worst in a fanbase? I had no problem with the Kings fanbase until last night, where all of a sudden, just a massive wave of insufferable jackasses flooded the playoff board with comments about Doan's legacy being tarnished, the Coyotes relocating, etc.

It was the same thing last year. Had no problem with Boston or Vancouver fanbases, but once the series started, neither one came out squeaky clean.

Every fanbase has their idiots who love to gloat when things like this happen or just make incredibly dumb comments that don't even relate to what had happened.

Even the goalies. I learned to hate Mike Smith in this playoffs, with his overhandling the puck and calling out his teammates after goals. Meanwhile Jonathan Quick is the most unoffensive goalie this side of Ward.
Apparently I'm the only one, but I don't like at all. I respect him, but I don't like him. He has had more dirty plays than you'd think.

Are you talking about Quick? Or elaborating on Smith? I can't tell...

Quick. He's been a bit like Smith in the way that if things aren't going well he lashes out. But no one has really been able to see that in a while since the Kings are mostly just rolling over everyone

The thing is, I don't mind a goalie who gets a little chippy. I liked watching Hextall, Belfour and now Thomas. I wouldn't mind if Cam did that stuff, except it would probably take away from his focus and demeanor.

What I don't like about Smith is the theatrics after every little bad break, particularly toward his teammates and the officials. Last night was overkill in that department. He reminds me of a certain beer league goalie who acts the same way.

Every goalie barks at teammates when they make horrible plays/reads that lead to the goalie getting hung out to dry.

But not every goalie pouts and waves his hands at his defensemen because they failed to give him a perfectly clear lane for a long shot. Smith has a habit of basically calling out his teammates on stoppable shots, and I personally find that to be a pretty obnoxious habit.

Yep, Kings fans are starting to get really annoying. (Rangers or Devils fans will stay the same probably, because they're already annoying).

Go Kings, not a huge fan, but I'd rather them than the other two options out east.

Same. I would almost always rather see a first time champion when the Canes don't win it anyway.

If the Rangers can't pull out their current series, definitely the Kings in the finals. If the Rangers do manage to make it to the SCF, I'll be happy with either team winning.

That. And I got tired of him running into guys, falling to the ice like he just got shot, and then the refs being stupid enough and calling goalie interference. I know must of that is the refs fault cause if they didn't fall for it, he wouldn't do it, but damn it got annoying watching it every game.

It was only a year ago that Florida fans and Dale Tallon couldnt wait to boot Pete DeBoer. One year later the guy is pushing alot of the right buttons and is only a game away from playing in the Stanley Cup final. Tallon set DeBoer up to fail last season, giving him an AHL roster. Its good to see a good coach get a good quality chance after Tallon did him dirty in FLA.

Marc Staal with a Carolina Hurricanes-esque gaffe of a pinch fail.

Wait, why didn't Ryan Carter ever do any clutch scoring for us?

I didn't like when Carter was dealt initially and I still don't like it now. He would have been perfect for the "bigger and tougher" fourth-line that Muller wants to ice. Looks like it may be the Devils/Kings in the Finals, VERY unexpected.

Did you mean like how Richards failed at hitting the net twice on the power play in a span of about 45 seconds?

Fedotenko scored though...

Haha, that Tortorella reaction is priceless.

Yeah, I was talking about the power play. And of course they score a few minutes after I post that...
