The brain bug looked like it had a giant lady part for a face so the way they tried to kill (annoy?) it just sent me into fits of giggles. The whole movie is made for mocking.

I've spent my entire night watching three Phillippinos build a wall. It's better than LA Kings hockey, but holy hell, I'm falling asleep.

Still four hours left...

How about you ridicule Buffy the Vampire Slayer in two posts and we just call it even.

Buffy was...childish. I watched like 4-5 episodes, not good, IMO, predictable, over the top, something I may have liked at 12/13. Can't believe that the EPIC GENIUS that created FIREFLY, THE GREATEST THING TO EVER HAPPEN TO TV, started there. He has had great some great projects since as well (Dollhouse, Dr. Horrible's Sing along Blog), but I did not like Buffy at all, very teen/childish (never watched Angel).

So there, I have now made fun of Starship Troopers and Buffy. You both can agree on hating me

Nah, no hate. That's why I offered up Buffy as an example. It was just really different then the other shows I was watching 15 years ago. Most people I know love it, but a lot of people were unimpressed. The people who love the show will LOVE IT and everyone else either hates it or could take it or leave it. Much like Starship Troopers.

Firefly was awesome, so was the Sing along Blog. I tried to like Dollhouse but I think using the same actor for the lead in that show as the same actor who played Faith in Buffy made it harder for me then it should have been.

I haven't seen The Avengers yet so I don't know how he did with that movie.

I concur. The Cabin in the Woods is awesome. Doesn't seem to be playing anywhere in Winnipeg right now - should be in the cheap theatres soon, though.

One thing about Buffy is that the show grew up with Buffy through the years.
In the first couple of seasons the show was like a paranormal 90210 but it changed.
Later Buffy is about the same level as Firefly and much better than Dollhouse which, although I watched it all, got old and repetitive very quickly.
Plow through the first couple seasons of Buffy and you will be rewarded. The show gets really good once high school is over and Angel is gone.

This pic reminds me of an avatar I saw on this board before a Jets/Leafs game, its from some magazine. Don't take it seriously though since I hope noone wants to see this anywhere IRL.

Blasphemy.

Maybe one day, I do like Whedon stuff, but I just cannot ever see anything competeing with Firefly.

The wit, the storylines, the setting, the acting, everything was so well done there . I love the idea of a show that is NOT about being the most important people, the leaders, the "world" changing, it's just a show about a bunch of smugglers trying to get by. It's basically invented "gritty" sci fi that are dominating nowadays like Battlestar Galactica (new). Realistic new problems with society and people, not like Star Trek . It's why the movie Serenity (which is still very very awesome) was not as good, IMO, cause it was too grandiose. God now I gotta go rewatch Firefly/Serenity, it's been 6 months since I have watched them, too too long.

Dollhouse was good, not great. I think it was an awesome premise, just a tough idea to implement. Haven't watched it in a while, but the one thing I remember is that final episode of both seasons were the best, the post-apocalyptic ones but I did enjoy the show altogether.

Hole. Lee. ****. That looks unreal. Can't believe I have never heard of it.

But damn, I am into Civilization 5 right now (new Expansion pack coming out soon), Diablo 3, still playing Mass Effect 3 and Skyrim on Xbox and I have really been wanting to play some more Starcraft 2 recently. Not to mention I have not even had time to try LA Noire and Assassin's Creed 3 comes out before the end of the year. Just not enough hours in the day.
