Random stat of the day:

We were the only team to not win a single shootout at home.

Although we did win 4 on the road.

Curious to how many teams didn't record a hat trick this year. Didn't think we'd have to wait till season two.

Kane was close many times.

Yeah, and it only really counts if it's a home game though. That's one of my very large hopes for this year.

Pretty excited about an upcoming opportunity. My business partner and I are working on a deal to partner with a Winnipeg company to form a joint venture to bring some of the work we have in Toronto to Winnipeg - looking forward to spending a few weeks there with their company (they're great people ), and visiting friends and family, etc.

Congrats YWGinYYZ, hope it all works out for you.

Maybe you will be organizing some "business trips" that just happen to correspond to Jets home games.....

The thought that I might actually be able to get to a Jets game never crossed my mind, Huffer.

Truth be told, it's a great opportunity for both companies - some very strong business reasons to be in Winnipeg right now. I'm actually impressed and very encouraged by the guidance and help that the two parties have recieved from various Gov't agencies in MB. Things have definitely changed in Winnipeg since I left, and for the better.

Just got back from my Florida roadtrip. To our Atlanta fans... your city is gorgeous. I drove through an amazing neighborhood just off of Buckhead... the homes were stunning.

The overturned tanker on I 75 during rush hour wasn't fun though.

I highly recommend PS. The roadtrip itself was so much fun, you see so much of the country that way. Who knew Tennessee would be so nice for instance.

As for Florida, so much fun (a little too hot for me). Rip Rockin Coaster, the Aerosmith roller coaster, Space Mountain, and the 120 foot high water slide were just a few of the highlights.

Was gonna fly down to Florida last Feb and catch Jets back-to-back games in Miami and Tampa Bay, but opted for going to Cali and Arizona for networking for future job prospects down there.

I'd go to Florida next winter, but I'm too busy planning my month-long Australia trip in February

How ya'll doin'? Hurricanes fan in peace.

Since ya'll still in our division and I'm only like an hour away by plane, I was thinkin' of checkin' out a few Hurricanes//Jets games this year.

At the risk of sounding cliché, was just wondering if there is anything to see//do that's a MUST for a tourist? I've never been to the province before. Or where are good places for a few beers and a burger before the games where I won't get heckled too badly for sportin' my Red and Black

Thanks in advance for any tips, and have yourselves an awesome season

Here are a couple recent threads:

Which game are you planning on coming in for? If it's the Oct. 13 or Mar. 30 game, chances are the weather will be nice enough, in which case you can spend some time in the Corydon and Osborne area on the patio.

Winnipeg isn't really what I'd consider a 'touristy' city Jussi, but you'd be surprised how much live music there is, and other fun things that are a bit off the beaten path.

I feel bad for saying Pav - ah - leck now. I know what it can feel like when people mispronounce your name

Man that sounds amazing. I've never road tripped down to the States beyond Minneapolis before, though I have done San Fran to LA and back before. One day, I will. No time these days

Australia??? Man that sounds awesome...have you been before? I had a friend who backpacked tell me to stay away 'cause the discrimination is wild there, even to anyone who is not an Aussie. But I still wanna go. And probably will. Hopefully next few years.

In addition to Hank's links, I also suggest you remind us all closer to when you (if you decide) come. You'll enjoy the city...its very different than Calgary, that's for sure, so its a nice breath of fresh air from good ol' Cowtown. Just post a new thread, and we'll do our best to help you and inform you when the time comes.

Hank weren't there some additional links too? Some American NHLers came up (I think a Sharks fan was one of 'em?) and we had some other threads with additional infos

I backpacked for 3 months in Australia in 2000 after volunteering at the Sydney Olympics.
