Forgive us for having 2,000 less fans when both sides of our state are gangbanged by people who cant read a map.
How did we do in the playoffs? Thought so.
I have to admit, it is still satisfying after hearing all those Flyers fans speak of invasion, which amounted to nothing, like usual.
I was just making a statement, no need to get all defensive and pissy. If you look a few posts up (which is ^that way), I actually defended your precious Devils.
But hey good luck in the rest of the playoffs. All 12 of you actual fans deserve that parade.

Hey, look. I can't have a mature argument, so I'll resort to "my team beat your team, (insert witty joke here). The only joke here is the Devils fan base, and the fact that you guys can't have actual arguments. Nowhere did I bash the Devils, I actually gained respect for them as a team. But a Flyers fan posting an actual stat can't just be looking to engage in a hockey conversation. I must be trying to start ****, right? Well, I'm off to beat up a war veteran and off duty cop, because that's what people from Philly do. Oh wait, that ******* was from Jersey.
Marty has to pay 632,000 a year until 2020 counting this year that's about 5.7 million.
EDIT: I'd never thought the discussion of alimony/child support payments of a player would ever relevant to if he retires until now LOL
you can't look at it as 5.7 million dollars. not to say you aren't correct in saying that he owes a considerable sum of money, but you have to discount the future payments and assume that his current annual salary is being managed well (5% returnish). the 632 per year til 2020 is worth well under 5 million today. that is less than 1 year of his salary during his current contract. at this point, the interest return on his last two paychecks alone would cover his annual payments to dubois.
so i don't think that his ex wife is going to be a factor in whether he retires or not. if he plays well enough to win the cup, he can't be as bad as his detractors claim and he should play the game til he stops loving it as other posters mentioned.
That's the only thing opposite fans can do, take a jab on our attendance. Pretty pathetic, even if you defended our team, you still somehow take a jab on our team
Ironic, but whatever, atleast we don't stab eachother...
And all YOU guys can do is take stabs (puns) at how "violent" our fan base is, when in reality, a lot of the people that have done violent things in recent memory at Philly sports events were from New Jersey.
Should he retire? Not if he can still play the game at this level.
Will he? No, because see above. I do think they need to dump Hedberg though and make one of their prospects a full time backup* and have them learn under Brodeur for a full season.
*I know full time backup makes no sense, but you know what I mean.
The money argument is stupid. We all know damn well that the millisecond Marty retires that Lou is going to give him some BS front office job like "Special Assignment Coach." And I'm sure he's still going to make appearances on TV as a guest analyst or whatever.
He did the same thing when Stevens retired as well as when Pat Burns got sick. Lou paid every cent of Burnsie's cancer treatment for eight years, he paid every cent of Ken Daneyko's AA bill, I'm sure he'll take care of Marty's alimony. Lou takes care of his own.
Meh. Our fans are way too oversensitive about the attendance issue. Yeah, no one likes to be made fun of, but Devils fans swarm on anyone who brings up attendance. I don't think you should expect any different, though.
It would be a great ending but considering the alimony payments he has to make, It is possible he wants to play for as long as he can and get that big money possible so the court ordered payments don't dig into any saving accounts he has.
