Cooper said Tokarski will start first exhibition game tomorrow. Not sure if Helenius will play.

Thursday scratches: Palat, Johnson, Connolly, Wyman, Angelidis, Cote, Gudas. Seven different scratches for Friday's game.

What are the expectations for Hutchings this year? Florida bound?

It's the last year of his entry level contract so hopefully Syracuse.

I think Brown, Connolly, Conacher, Johnson, Killorn, Panik, Palat, Wyman, Angelidis, Labrie, and Neilson (11) are all locks. That leaves 1 or 2 spots left. Namestnikov, Gauthier, and Langelier-Parent are all rookies and Devos played 22 games last season in Florida, so it's not impossible for him to make the team even with our awesome depth.

I gotta say, as pissed as I am about the NHL lockout, I am really looking forward to seeing the kids play this season. I've never focused much on the prospects, but the depth SFY has put together has got me pumped.

Don't forget that St. John Newfoundland is 1 1/2 hours ahead of Ontario Canada and Tampa Bay Florida i.e. if the game can be heard at 7:30 pm in St. John we need to begin listening to the game at 6:00 pm.

Nice to see Hutchings get on the scoresheet while shorthanded. If he makes the team he most likely won't be in the top 6 or get a lot of pp time, so doing his part on the pk is what he needs to do....and he's done it in the past. 11 of his 47 goals in his final OHL season were shortys. If he can make himself a pk demon out there it will add a crazy dimension to this already scary team.

Great to see Riku do well in his first game back too.

Some news about Kucherov...

He can now train at 100% and receive hits during practices. He still can't play games but he should be allowed to shortly.

28 games in a row isn't that impressive.

I'm sure we can do better.

I'm really curious to see how Kucherov does. Will he jump to the NHL next season or spend a year in AHL.

Next years AHL team is going to be stacked also if Kucherov W plays there and maybe Gusev W comes over. Tanner Richard C, Cedric Paquette C, Sergeev D and Nesterov D will also be eligible.

Im very impressed with the way we have been able to build our prospect pool up the last 3 years. Quite a transformation.

Apparently the new jerseys are going to be withheld until the actual season starts.
Wish there were better photos but this is all I could find from the game last night.
They look like the ones used last season when they were still Ducks affiliate.

Another interesting tid bit is that this is the 2nd annual Mary Brown’s Cup exhibition series.

Admirals won last year 2 games to 1.

October 5th Syracuse and St. John game

First period has concluded.
Score is 1 -0 for St. John
Hunter Tremblay scored for St. John on a 5 on 3 power play (Angelidis and Connolly were in the penalty box).
