So much blind hate in here it's awesome. Posters whining about a team that supposedly whines. Love it.

Anyone outside of Rangerville wants them to lose...

Devils.

Parise is one of my favorite players and I loathe Torts. Pretty simple.

Absolutely, I mean what more proof do you want than Boyle's disallowed goal that would have finished the Caps in game 7...... oh, wait, that doesn't back up what you're saying, in fact, it's the exact opposite.

Would I be somewhat correct in stating that a lot of the dislike for the Rangers in this thread stems from Tortorella?

Rangers.

I love the entire makeup of the New York team. Great character guys, hard working captain in Callahan and an outstanding goaltender. Also, Torts is a very good coach.

I'm not surprised by the fact that:

1. The Devils are killin' it in this poll.
2. That Rangers fans think it's because people are 'hatin' on The Rangers.

False.

If they were 1st seed, 8th or 200th seed, most fanbases wouldn't like them.

I don't expect you to see beyond your bias (it's a logical bias) and realize why the team leaves a nasty aftertaste in ones mouth.

America wasn't hatin' on Hitler cuz of his 'success'.

I don't care if any other team wins the cup.........EXCEPT THE RANGERS.

I have to tolerate their ***** all year at the Coliseum and at work in NYC, there is no way I want then winning squat. Nothing would please me more than to see them crushed with a loss to the Devils.

"The King," that has won nothing. If you read today's paper or any paper since the guy has been here, you would think he won 10 straight Stanley Cups, it's laughable how the beat writers in this town have their noses up Lundqvists ass.

When he wins something then gloat about him, until then, he has won **** so he deserves nothing.

No, it's because of the hype they get and their fans who are the biggest **** talkers who have hardly ever won ****.

The hate the rag$ get is because of themselves, they just can't shut up for two seconds.

none of the above. Not enough money to get me to root for a winner in a NJ/NYR series.
no offense to any of those teams fans. I am sure you would feel the same way if your team isnt involved and 2 other Atlantic teams are in the East Final.

So you're saying he deserves no media coverage because he "hasn't won anything?" He is an outstanding goalie and the best player on the team. That argument makes zero sense...

The team in front of him is finally playing good enough to make it this far.

In the most cavemen-like fashion ever

" Me Callahan! Me block shots! No Mess cry! "

Parking that bus in front of the net, right up to the ECF.

The Devils ruined my childhood, and this season for us, I was AT the Winter Classic and still am 110% behind the Rangers, and you know what? If Los Angeles finishes off Phoenix out West(only 1-0), I'll root for them again.

The Devils have been the Flyer's biggest rivals by far over the past 15 years while the Rangers have mostly been irrelevant.

+1 for me too. He deserves it more this year. Oddly enough, I've had much more hate for the Devils over my hockey-watching days than I ever have for the Rags.

But yeah, Kings will win it all anyway so whatever.

I hate the Pens and Rangers with every fiber of my being.

I only just hate the Devils in comparison.

Rooting for the Devils in this one.

Pretty much why I'm cheering for the Rangers. I love Lundqvist and after all the years of mediocrity he has endured, keeping New York competitive. He damn well deserves a cup. Might help I wasn't a hockey fan when New York beat us back in 94. >.>

The enemy of my enemy of my enemy is my friend was obviously the way this thread/poll was going to go down. No matter...just the way it is when you play in the cultural hub and entertainment capital of the world. And there is obviously alot of jealousy and envy from Devil and Isle fans due to all the attention Rangers get warranted or unwarrented...just the way it is. The haters are simply going to hate

If shoe was on other foot, no way in hell could I choose between Pens/Devils/Flyer or even Islanders...hate them all with deep passion.

Ironic thing about this all is I read alot of our rival fans message boards(Flyers,Jersey,Isles,Pens and Bruins) in particularly and this year I have never read so many complimentary statements about the Rangers("they really are good...we just can't beat them" said plenty of Flyer fans this year, "they are actually doing it the right way afterall" said many Devil fans during the year, "they remind me of our team when we won the Cup" said plenty of Bruin fans, "gotta admit Rags don't look like same old Rags" said plenty of Pens fans this year.

Bottom line: Rangers are easy to say publicly that you hate them cause that's the "cool thing" to do and say and it runs with the crowd. But deep down, alot of our rival fan bases are actually admiring how this team has done things and despite our coach acting grouchy at times, I've never seen Rangers respected as much as they have EVER!!
