1-1 in regulation. OT winner for Finland. We'll see if there's any chance to beat Team USA in the semis.

6-1 Finland

Kiiskinen plays himself in the lineup (for real). Kazakshtan scores first with a D-man, coast to coast, then 2 circles around finnish offensive zone and one-handed backhanded lacrosse scoop.

After that Jalonen takes time out, punches Mäenpää and Hietanen in the face and scratches them from roster and we score 6.

I won't predict any numbers, but it'd be mighty strange if we didn't win this decisively.

I can understand people's willingness to use some grimy paint, but IMO that should be saved for the game on Thursday, not for this.

But passing backwards and slowing the game down is not Our Game™. It's only one component in it and should be done only if you can't play forward. If and when we always pass backwards then we're not playing the system like it should be played.

You're right. We were totally screwed against the hard forecheck but I think the ability to respond to different situations should be the strength of Our Game™. Why it wasn't, and why we didn't play Our Game™ at all vs. USA?... well, that's an interesting question. We'll see if Finland can fix things before thursday.

Can someone please explain why team Finland has played every single game so far in white jerseys (the uglier of two poor jerseys might I add)? Makes no sense to me.

I agree. Unfortunately neither our def nor our off has had the
guts to play fast forward even when there's been chances.
Everyone, everyone even in stupid situations gives backwards.

A game plan is only as good as what the players can make
happen on the ice.

The penalties being called are BEYOND ridiculous. These refs are pure amateurs.. And I am talking overall, not against Finland only.

Finland doesn't look like they could hit a barn door with a banana, absolutely snake bitten. They need that one nice goal to improve their confidence.
