He certainly never had great puck control, but it's definitely gotten worse. Always the most overrated part of his game.

I still think it hasn't gotten any worse he just wasn't nearly as pressured early in his career. Thats whats changed IMO not his skill but the fact that now teams D are jumping up on him and that is what has changed. He doesn't have as much time and it causes him to lose the puck at a much higher rate.

Completely disagree. He fumbles the puck with no one around him, leaves the puck behind when shooting wristers, and completely shanks slappers at a much higher rate than he did before. None of which have to do with being pressured.

I think it's a combination of something mental (loss of confidence after the Olympics, not liking becoming a villain, etc.) and poor preparation.
