Correct me if I am wrong with a link, but I have seen 4.5 more then 3 times this playoffs.

Tonights Kings/Yotes game was at 4.5 and I remember multiple times the Canucks/Kings series being at 4.5. Also NYR/WSH game 7 was at 4.5

Someone said the Rangers Look Lethargic is game 6 and 7? Game 6 yes... game 7 not so much, i thought they were the sharpest they had looked since game 1.

Speaking from a Devil's fan point of view, but trying to stay as objective as possible...

I would not be shocked at all to see a sweep by the Rangers in this series while also seeing it tight as ****. In reality the Rangers dont win by more then 2 too often so if the games are something like 2-1,1-0,3-2,2-1 i really would not be surprised at all, and in games that close it really is just one bounce that changes everything. If there is one thing the rangers have had on their side all year it is good fortune.. very rarely do i watch NYR and see them score ultra skill goals.. it is usually right spot right time grinding it out hard nosed goals - and that is not to take anything away from them - look at where they are at now.

I think it is fairly obvious the key to the serious is Henry. As a Devils fan Id love to see the boys get to him early and often because if there is one flaw in his game it is with out a doubt his mental toughness.. goals seem to snow ball on him when they happen - which isnt often - but he deff seems to have more of a long term memory rather then a short term one that is so crucial for goalies... if Henry finds his zone it could be a long serious for the Devils.

As far as the Devils team they seem to be completely Bi-poler to me this postseason.. there is no in-between for them. They are either throughly dominating or getting throughly dominated and it is awful to watch.

I do believe the Devils best is better then the Rangers best however Im not so sure we will be seeing the Devils best night-in-and-night-out. Overall Im hoping the Devils forecheck pressure is too much for the inexperienced Rangers D as they faced nearly no forecheck last round Im hoping NJD fowards are a slap in the face and they falter under the pressure. The thing that scares me the most (and frustrates me the most) is the rangers seem to thrive and capitalize on scoring "cheep" goals off of opposition mistakes and this devils team has made some bone-headed plays this postseason

Overall I dont think the final result, or how many games the serious goes rather, will really show the closeness of this series --- i only see it going 4 or 5 with the harder worker- faster team winning it however I expect almost every game to be a one goal game (sans EN)

If the Devils play a trap, this series could see a lot of 1-0 and 2-1 games, with perhaps an OT game thrown in. The Caps series was tight too...only Game 1 had a more-than-1-goal margin.

Get those defibrillators ready.

I was amazed how slow the Rangers and Capitals looked in this series overall.
If you didn't think those two teams were slow as molasses you couldn't have watched any other series in the 2nd round.

Devils don't play a trap though. They play big time forecheck which mixed with our tight defensive system should make for some very interesting games.

if either team scores 3 goals, they win the game. it's really that simple.

Can't say I disagree.

And with that said, I can already see tomorrow being a 7-6 shootout to throw everyone off.

Believe it or not, but I can actually see one of the goalies (mostly Marty) scoring a goal this series. Can't explain why, but I do.

He did years back in a game against the Flyers where we were up two.

The outcome of the play was our lead cut to one.

I remember that play. I think Knuble and Shanny collided in that game and Shanny got a concussion if memory serves me right.

lol and this is why most of us hate when he plays the puck.

Still would be cool to see it though.

The only thing thats getting to me are all my old classmates who were on the Rangers bandwagon in 94 are talking the same smack they did back then. I remember having huge fights on the bus to school with these same guys 17 freakin years ago. We were all wearing those poofy Starter Jackets, arguing about devils vs rangers and super nintendo vs sega genesis

Makes me feel old, man.

The Devils haven't had to deal with a solid defense and allstar goaltender until now. I expect the Rangers offense to wake up a little bit this series.

Devils aren't going to get the "freebies" they got from Bryzgalov, but then again, Bryz also made huge saves and was probably the best Flyer in the series.

I'd love to see the Devils win, but Lundqvist >> Brodeur.

Ahhh....the good ole days. I had one of those jackets.

Game 1 will be a tough one for the Rangers with the quick turn around. NJ will be flying.

That's the thing....everyone is talking about how bad Bryz was but honestly I thought his D let him down, asides from a few goals. In a few games he was the only guy giving them a chance to win. Their D could never establish a transition game either, which cut the effectiveness of their offense, mainly due to the Devils ' ferocious forecheck. One of the Rangers biggest challenges will be similar, since they struggle as it is with getting pucks out of their zone.

The Rangers will have the fight and claw their way through to win this series. I think they can do it, it just won't be easy, just like the 2 previous series.

Post all-star break:

Goalie A:
17-8-1
2.10 GAA
.917 save %
3 SO

Goalie B:
17-9-2
2.05 GAA
.921 save %
3 SO

The goaltending matchup is a little closer than we think and the series will reflect this.

False. This is not post all-star break. Post all-star includes the playoffs and you choosed not to use the playoff stats because that would have made Lundqvists stats much better. Way to go Mr.Devil.
Why would you not include the playoffs, just because martys stats is worse? wow.

"I must find Lundqvists worst performances and compare them to marty to make marty look good. And I can't compare current form because Lundqvists is better. I better compare their form between feb 1st - april 7th and that will definetely describe how good they are right now"
