Two of the three goals on Smith up high? Hmmmmm. Yes that is how you beat him, or on a rebound like Dwights first goal of the game. Smith goes down early.
I have to say that I love watching this Kings team play and am glad Richards got traded there just so he can play in a system which suits him best. From top to bottom this is truly an awesome team and a treat to watch after me having to watch the wreck-less system of the Flyers the past three years!
I hope you guys can make it all the way that is for sure
Quick had a rough game. Good to see the team bailing him out as he's done for them all season. Quick just has a rough time when he doesn't get much work early. A week off and only 4 shots in the first period spell disaster for most goalies. Certainly he gets a mulligan.
Minor in the grand scheme of things though. Hell of a road game.
Gotta try to get that PP going.

1) Doan isn't playing behind Kopitar. 2) They weren't raving about Richards as if he's one of the game's true superstars all game.
I get they feel the need to anoint a superstar of Phoenix for TV purposes but Smith, Yandle, or OEL are all much better players with far more significant impacts on the Coyotes in comparison to Doan. Context means everything.
You're kidding right? Doan has been an outstanding player for the Coyotes franchise and the NHL since the day he stepped into the league. Obviously he isn't AS good as he once was but he's far better than how you're describing him. Anyone who can score 800 points in his career is ok by me.
Amazing team effort yet again. The first goal on Quick was tough but crap happens. What's sickening is reading through the GDT afterward and seeing everyone crap on him after that goal. I've been staying out of GDTs for most of the playoffs because I hate seeing people turn on a player like that. He's been unbelievable all season and is allowed to have a stinker go in once in a while.
I love the team's forecheck and I love that even after being off for such a long time, they came out on fire. Every single player has brought it and they're doing all the little things right. I didn't think the Kings had the depth needed beyond the first 2 lines but they're playing amazing hockey right now and also keeping penalties to a minimum. I don't have a problem with them not scoring many goals because they're focusing on defense and that's why they're on this insane run.

I heard the Kings had 90 attempts on net tonight! Outstanding, that's how we have to play against a goalie like Smith.
9-1 in the playoffs so far, 6-0 on the road, so proud of the Kings.
DL has done an outstanding job of building this team, and DS of coaching it.
Even when adversity hit , Quick letting in one from center ice, weak calls by refs, the Kings came back stronger and more determined. Great job!
I love the way this team is playing right now. All four lines are just clicking! Quick looked like he was settling in there especially late in the 3rd, but glad the team was able to help him out!
This team was built on adversity...we're practically Adversity, Inc. Every time we have something bad, wait a few and we get something better.
Bad coach? Got a better one.
Bad 3rd/4th line vets? Got better ones that are younger and bigger.
Bad injury to Gagne? Got Carter.
Bad attitude on Brown? Got a better one post trade deadline.
Bad scoring that's last in the league? Got better scoring at nearly 3g per game clip.
Bad goal by Quick? Got it back by Brown.
Bad pancake injury? Got back Penner from four years ago.
Bad concussion on Richards? Got back healthy in time for the playoffs.
Bad plays/penalties by Stoll? Got back his rep by shooting high on Schneider.
Bad penalty? Got shorthanded goals.
The list goes on and on.
I've just seen the way this team has dealt with adversity all season that I just believe in them. This team has earned my trust.
You can't beat a team who has an even stronger counter punch to everything you throw at it.

I didn't say Doan wasn't a good player. But, if they want to anoint a star for TV purposes, he's not better than any of those Coyotes I mentioned. Sure, history and letter speaking, he makes more sense but at least have some restraint when you're babbling on about him all game. I'm strictly talking about the ridiculous hyperbole they were carrying on tonight as if Doan could do no wrong and was single handily dominating the game, neither of which is remotely true.
No where did I say done he wasn't "ok."

Kopitar fenwicked 22.........22!!!!!!!!!. That is unreal, i have never personally seen a player fenwick above 20 ever, not even when a dominant team plays a scrub team during the reg season, to do it in the playoffs is unbelievable
I am getting a kick out of a lot of Hf posters on other teams saying Quick is a system goalie.
It's just making me chuckle.
Can't really blame them other than the fact that they're willing to spout an opinion based on such a small sample size. This is the first time most of them have ever bothered to watch Quick play. No different then when Doughty was rumored as a candidate for the Canadian Olympic team in 2010. There was tons of hubbub about how Yzerman and co. were crazy, Doughty was overrated, etc. And then they all went nuts when they actually watched him play in the tournament, their first time watching him that year.
Players like Stoll and Lewis are really under appreciated for their work on the forecheck.
Phoenix fans at the game were a total joke. First trip ever to the Western Conference Finals and they act like its a regular season game.
Overall, we dominated this game. I was sort of expecting it to go to overtime until it got under 10 minutes, given how Phoenix got its goals. But I was amazed how calm I was at towards the end of the game. Our team is just clutch.
Quick looked real shaky early in the game before he let in the softy. You can kind of tell when he's not on his game and is scrambling unnecessarily. But he made the stops when it mattered.
Everybody is contributing. Richardson blocking the shot in the crease was another huge play. These guys totally get it.

Great post!
Also can add: Trevor Lewis, healthy scratch by Murray...Trevor Lewis most improved King since DS came aboard. Tenacious, aggressive, great skater, great defensively, hits continually and great on PK.
