Interesting. When you say draft med or good what exactly are you saying...that the draft year is med or good or that SJ picks are med/good?

How long will it take SJ to get back this level? Never. This is a generational team, but realistically it will around 2015 and on that they can contend again...

Ever since 07-08 fans were treated to something special... It seems only fair they go through a 3-4 year "dark period"

8 overall, 11 overall, and then 4th rounders. We should see a Villemaire trade at the draft and may see another deal or two to add more picks.

And of course we selfishly hope Huberdeau doesn't make the Panthers which would pay off for us at xmas.

supposed to be nothing.

I'd expect your 3rd round pick going back to SJ at best

Works for me, but wasn't he part of a Gauthier-Leduc trade that fell through ?

the reasons why SJ made that deal are really weird serioously.

they got ripped. Looks like they really wanted Oke out.

maybe they wanted to land JGL and boucher backed them off. It would make sense.

I think there's more to the deal, no way SJ just let's go of Oke and Gravel for Villemaire.

Villemaire was an unrelated deal with drummond.

Oke wanted more icetime. No one knows if there is anything more to this deal yet (though honestly Chicoutimi's 3rd is prob the best we'd get)

I actually didnt find it that bad. I know Beauregard is a step up but they paid a 1st round pick for him last season. And I wouldt really consider it a failed run. They did win the Presidents Cup and won a couple of games at the tourny..

True, but for a team that should of walked thought the MemCup.. It's a failed run.

I think if it were London to knock them out, people wouldnt be as disappointed. The fact that Shawingan, whom they had already beat, knocked them out really makes the difference there..

While I agree with you, they played half ass, last years run (2011) was beautiful, you could feel the excitement, the past and see that they wanted it and they had fun, you saw the skill they had. This year looked like kids who were being forced to play hockey..

Am I correct in thinking that Galiev and Jurco be returned into the Q?
I know both are very high in thier respective NHL stables (Stanislav looking better each year at Caps camp/Tomas impressing the Wings too) but I think both will require more seasoning.

I am sure both players still have a year of Junior eligibilit left?
I am sure Zach Phillips is the same too?

I have no doubt that Huberdeau is in the Panthers next year, but if Phillips, Galiev and Jurco all return, I dont think the Seadogs will be THAT bad?

Or am I mistaken regarding Eligibility?

Firstly just forget about Philips and Galiev(gone to Washington).
As far as Jurco, I am not familiar enough with his contract status.
In general any signed drafted Euro will head for AHL at 20 unless they are heading for the NHL.

You might as well forget about them.

True - there is zero chance of seeing any of Phillips, Galiev or Jurco back with the Sea Dogs next season. They will all be in the pro ranks.

Not 100% sure but heard from a source tonight that Gallant has been named an assistant coach of the Montreal Canadiens. Great honour for him, really tough loss for the Sea Dogs! He is one hell of a junior hockey coach!

On another note, heard that Eric Veilleux is accepting the head coaching job of the Baie-Comeau Drakkar. Seems odd to leave the Memorial Cup champs for another team in the same league, I thought for sure he'd take off to Calgary as an assistant to Hartley.
