Coached for what half a season? Must be pissed he wasn't able to run Lunqvist after game 7...

The first good hockey news I have heard in awhile. It pained me to root for the Caps with him behind the bench. If there's one name that should never be etched on the Cup, it's his.

I have no love for the guy, but this is strange. it must be because upper managemement was telling him to play Ovechkin more and he wouldn't. He did a really good job with the Caps this season.

From what I have heard/read this morning he was never planning on staying. Check out Puck Daddy's article.

Why this news didn't break until he stepped down is beyond me.

That means Ron Wilson is going to coach the Capitals. Oh well, We got Fred Flintstone!!

I actually liked the way Hunter coached the team, they seemed to flow better under him then with sailor mouth.

No surprise. He owns part of the London Knights. He makes more money doing that than he would coaching in the NHL.

No news here. It was an interim solution.

word around the campfire is that he started a brawl after the fine fellows at Karako refused to take back the his one and only suit. Allegedly went in screaming "I wore it once" and wanted his $59.99 back. unfortunately for him, the manager was a ranger fan and saw him wear it everyday for the past month...dirtbag.

As good as he could, really. McPhee constructed a terrible team, he's the one that's got to go.

Would have much preferred Leonsis fired him with a vicious bodycheck while his back was turned, but this'll do.

Not gonna lie... when I read that, I read "Leonidas"... which made me think about 300... which made me think of Leonidas kicking the Persian guy into the pit... Which made me imagine a GIF of Hunter being kicked into the pit...

Very creative mind. If only it were true. Could not have happened to a more worthy person, either.
