Windsor Spitfires reporting that have waived a Euro player and re-claimed Koko on re-entry waivers.

Looks like AK89 on his way back to OHL...mtf He's still technically in the KHL, but something's obviously up.

EDIT: Juraj Bezuch wiaved

Is he fully back from his injury yet? What kind of playing time has he been getting in Russia?

I have no idea. But his 1 goal, zero assists in 12 games (-5) implies that things aren't going QUITE as he was hoping.

I certainly wouldn't be opposed to seeing him back in North America. But I hope there isn't anything too distressing...

It still applies, the NHL is honoring the agreement with the CHL

I cant for the life of me think that he will keep up his current pace which is at 150+ points right now. He's also playing on the OHL's most potent offense atm. So to answer your question, no not a fluke, but there's always more to the stats then what they show.

And you're right about his two way game. NHL ready IMO. But another level offensively? Not sure. I think it's more the natural progression as players like him and Griffith outgrow the younger players in the league. (Look no further then Tanner Pearson last year)

Firmly believe that when the Knights offense picks up, and it will, that Griffith will close the gap on Jenner.

PS. Hope to get a chat in with Griffith tonight. Just did one with Camara I know you certainly will enjoy Lou
I can't find it online...Where is it published????

Dougie Hamilton had an assist in a 4-0 win over Saginaw. Griffith had two assists in a 8-2 win over Windsor, hasn't quite looked the same since the crazy first weekend. Camara had his sixth goal and an assist in a 4-3 shoot out win over Mississauga. Payne matched his goal total from last year with his third in four games in a 5-4 loss to Gouelph.

I'll let you know when its up. Sometime next week.

As for Koko

Spoke to Warren Rychel between periods last night who never says much and when I asked him about Koko he said "hopeful" and "optimistic".

Closest thing you'll get to a yes from him

I have heard a lot of talk about this upcoming draft, and how Columbus will be very fortuante as they own 3 picks in the first round. 2 of those picks should be higher, so just how deep is this draft class than?

How is this draft class currently shaking up or compares to drafts of the last few years?

How cautious would you be of trading your 1st rounder if you were the Bruins? The same as any other year or more so?

Thanks.

Should be a deep draft I think. Any spot in the first round could net you a high upside prospect. Columbus is in good shape. Having said that I'm sure if chiarelli has a good deal on the table that involves shipping out this years first round pick he won't hesitate. The bruins are a deep team and can afford to move picks. As long as the return would be good. (yandle, Ryan, type players)

Looked him up, kid seems to have no issues dropping the mitts either. Have to admit, I know little about him other than he plays for the Generals, and has 4g/1a in 5 games

Whalers. Gennies traded him to Plymouth last year. But I'm sure you knew that and it was just a Freudian slip...

Seems to be almost a forgotten prospect among fans.

I haven't seen him yet this season (will see him Friday though) but buy all accounts from those that have seen him he's playing terrific and doing so without top quality minutes. And no surprise with Plymouth's depth up front.

I know Kirk mentioned somewhere what one NHL scout said about Payne the other day, believe it was on twitter. Can't find it and don't want to misquote him but it was all good.

Matthew Benning, youngest player in the system, has 2 goals in his 1st 2 USHL games with Dubuque.

Not saying he's all of a sudden going to be an offensive d-man, but just thought I'd throw that out there as one of our lesser known prospects with a good start.

That he was flying all over the ice...impressed the guy, who didn't see the upside from him last year. Said he wished he'd seen him more with Plymouth b/c most of his viewings with Oshawa where Payne barely got any ice.

Tom Wharry, who was based near Plymouth before relocating, also had encouraging things to say about Payne over the summer- said that he could see the kid's raw talent in flashes last year, especially during the WJC when he got top-six minutes. He told me in July that if Vellucci gave Payne a regular shift this year, we would see a boost in production.

He was right.

And to think- the Bruins got both of Seth Griffith and Payne in the fifth round. Fifth! These two double-nickels could end up contributing to the B's fortunes down the road. Pretty early yet, but they have 11 goals between them just two weeks into the season.
