The Blues wouldn't make a lateral move at the center spot, especially when Berglund is really turning into a two way force. I want Gagner in a 2A/2B situation with Berglund. He'd get plenty of ice time with some very good players.

I know Gagner isn't worth Berglund. But if you're seeing Gags as a #2, where does Oshie fit?

I don't think these two are really made for dealing. The Oilers would be coveting pretty much the same thing - a solid #2C or an upgrade on the D, meaning someone like Shattenkirk. And we all know that ain't happening.

I'd love to push Stewart your way, as I think he'd be dynamite in a run and gun system alongside RNH...But you guys are packed on the right side with Ebs and Hemsky. What about Stewart and Ponich? Another big prospect defenseman wouldn't hurt.

not to mention, we're probably gonna draft Yakupov, another RW so having Stewart is redundant.

Oshie has always been a winger since college.

Add to those two Yakupov at the draft and we're pretty stuffed on the right side. And while Ponich would be a really nice piece to add, I think the Oilers are probably looking to add somebody who steps in now.

I like the value there, but I don't think they're the right pieces moving forward.

One's that contribute at the rate Marchand does all while drawing a significant number of power-plays would be a huge bonus.

You may be right about contract negotiation, but what value does a player like that bring to a team who seriously lacks physicality?
Is it me or is Marchand the exact opposite of that?

He gets the opposition riled up, it works around Lucic, Horton, Chara, Thornton and company.

I agree with this, he was fine nothing spectacular, Gormley was by far the best for Canada, then i'd tie Murray and Hamilton as good but just good as the 2nd/3rd best Dmen.

Not that much...but im not sure youre willing to give up enough to fill a need for us...

Legit Top 4D, Stud D prospect, or big 2c.

Were not looking to just get rid of him.

Never heard of Ponich, Not really interested in Stewert, if for no other reason than positional glut.

Why in the world would STL want Gagner? He brings next to nothing to their team. They have centre depth already, and if I were them I sure wouldn't want to acquire a player like Gags just to put him on the wing... Not to mention at the expense of what they'd have to give up. Edmonton is not going to just give away Gagner and at the same time he has little to no value IMO.

We should just pimp Gagner's point production by playing him with Hall and yakupov. The treade him at the deadline. Kinda like the canucks did with Hodgson.

Maybe, they didn't seem to show alot of skill against the Kings and the Gagner brings that.

I still think you could move him to Nashville honestly, they REALLY lack skill down the middle.

Can Stewart play LW? I swear he did on the Avs.

Stewart-RNH-Yakupov.

That would be one freaking scary line.

I thought he did too.

But with all of the rumblings of him not bringing his 'A' game in the playoffs, the Oilers may be better off just signing Penner as a UFA. It's more the devil you know vs the devil you don't. Then you've still got Gagner moving forward, whether it be as your #2C or as trade bait for an upgrade on D.

I'm not gonna say I know a lot about him either, but what I've read is he's a 6'7 monster LHD. He has some mobility issues and is far from a sure thing, but is a good piece to add to a prospect pool lacking in the meat and potatoes department.

Still a no. He may not be an elite scorer, but he is really developing into a great two way player. The Blues have decent center depth, but they're not going to downgrade it, that's for sure.

I can see a Gagner for Ryan Ellis deal, but it would leave us without a no.2 C. I think Nashville will cut bait on Radulov.

Either move Hall there or sign Olli Jokinen for a couple of years I guess.

Phoenix will probably looking for help upfront too if they fall to the Kings, so I think Gormley and/or Rundblad will be made available as they're way too bottom heavy.

Size, scoring, defensive ability? Perfect 2C for the Oilers.

God no, I'd rather have Gagner than Joker at #2C.

I'd really see it as much of a difference, except Jokinen is a lot bigger/more experienced.

Production wise they're both basically going to give you the same thing.

Then you add Ryan Ellis to the back end. Have to give to get.
