The color guy is right. The puck support for the US isn't good enough. Players are coming in too late to really help, and players are getting out numbered down low.

You wouldn't be alone. During the lockout Erik Cole was playing for the Eisbaren in Berlin. His helmet came off and he kept going. The ref called him for 2 minutes and he went apocalyptic on the guy. He had no idea the rule existed.

It's a very different USA I expect to show up on Thursday.
They seem slow and not very interested in the game.
Forechecking is not deep and the pace is slow, some kind
of sloppyness in the def etc.

If SUI was still battling for a place in the QF this would
be a very different ballgame. Now it seems it's more like
"lets just play the obligatory game and then it starts".

Yeah, you can go entire tournaments and never see it. Usually players hop off the ice, and little is said. It definitely doesn't favor NHL players though, who wouldn't think twice about continuing the play without a helmet.

Palmieri and Smith look nice together. This is the only time I've seen KP have this much chemistry on a line; during the tournament, at least.

Fowler is having his worst game. In fairness to him, the same can be said for Johnson and Faulk.

Agreed. The US blue line looks off today. Even a little disinterested.

Seems like the US team plays to the level of their opponent. Or at least their reputation. No offense to Switzerland.

Seems to be typical for us.

We go lame against France.

Come out strong against Canada

Massive let down against Slovakia

Slip past Belarus

Struggle against Kazakhstan

Come out after that embarrassment and whip the Finns

Now we are back to playing lazy.

Hopefully we can go back to having a good game in the quarterfinals.
