Why does the game have to start so late? 2:15 a.m start over here so won't be able to watch it.

It's prime time in Sweden. Just about the right time to have your young ones tucked in and pop a beer.

I don`t care how this game ends im pissed at alot of our players namely- Meija,dzerins,stals,lavins,cibulskis,sotnieks and cipulis shouldn`t even be on the roster i`m not sure they would be able to play even in Allsvenskan or sm -liiga 2, The leaders-sprukts,mikelis and daugavins havent shown why they play at such high level,major disappointment
Now for the upsides- Kenins,Indrasis- i see bright future for them as they are already the best players on our roster and they are so young,also ofcourse krisjanis redlihs hasn`t disappointed as well as oskars bartulis and masalskis had a great tournament.

Oh and denmark? forgot about that game? and even if we would be in QF i wouldnt change my opinion about those players who i listed that are even lower than Allsvenskan.

Probably because it's prime time in Europe and they're not really counting on a whole lot of Aussies watching the game

Their a right cracker mate

Haven't seen a snake in many years in Perth. Do see some dangerous spiders every once in a while and I get stung by jellyfish a few times every summer. You're the guys with those murderous elk and polar bears tho

Mate....our Huggorm would kill any of your snakes...and then we got awesome Swedish gäddor, which would eat the jellyfish to breakfast.

Well, I agree that most of the listed players have played bad.
Cipulis - completely lacks scoring capability (same as during season). And in this WC there is little positive else about his game - has been invisible.
Meija - very similar player to Cipulis, but at least he seems to be trying.
Dzerins - not much use this WC, but this is somewhat understandable given his health woes.
Stals - he's a 4th liner. Has been ok in his role (not the worst).
Lavins - sorry, but this has to be the last WC he takes part in. He is small (thus, gets hussled by bigger players), tends to make stupid defensive plays and brings nothing else to the table. In fact Galvins is a better defensive player this WC than Lavins (nevermind about offense).
Sotnieks - has been dissappointing this WC. Can be physical, which is good, but he also makes stupid defensive plays.
Cibulskis - has been dissappointing both in the WC and at KHL. He is soft, makes very stupid plays when pressured (which has lead to turnovers in the defensive zone), more often than not fails at the first pass. Apart from his smooth skating, there is not much else.
Sirokovs - whatever. Another player who has very limited scoring ability.
Berzins - during the last years I have found his inclusion in the WC team as mistake. Every WC he makes a few very dumb penalties - usually at times when they are least welcome. This WC however he has been ok for some games.
M.Redlihs - has been a shadow of himself this WC. Can play much better.
Sprukts - pretty much on par with how he has played during the season. I do not consider him being a big dissapointment.

The few positives are:
- Kenins (very feisty; really tries his best);
- Indrasis (nice surprise offensively, is quite large, ok on defense);
- Bartulis (best D-man this year);
- Galvins (has proven himself as a very good 2-way D-man).

Whats positive is that most of those pathetic failures of hockey will be dropped out of the team because the team will be joined by the likes of karsums,darzins,girgensons,pelss,bicevskis and then even few more years down the road rihards bukarts,blugers,jevpalovs,lipsbergs,kolesnikovs.

So Fasth is starting once again. Mårts just refuses to give Enroth an honest shot.

Well, Fasth just played against tough italian team and earned a shutout, so obviously you play the hot hand here.

I will most likely be a kind of training style game between a swedish team preparing for QF (sure to meet the czech) and a Latvian team with nothing more to play for than avoiding being humiliated - they will be 5'th in the group no matter what.
It's only if the swedish team feel they want to give the spectators something to cheer about....

Is it safe to say that Sweden wins by at least 3 goals? Latvians have went 2 games without a goal and both teams have nothing to play for. Swedes are well rested and might want to finish this round robin strong.

So far complete Swedish dominance. We haven't been able to enter their zone properly.

1-0 Sweden....
So if Latvia is not careful now and try to pull the tempo out of the game Sweden might get interested to "do a Norwegian"?

Swedish commentators go on about Franzéns helmet.

Now, my question is - didnt he break his nose earlier this year, and what did he wear to protect it then?

Watching for few mins now Latvia has had some good looks and the Swedish team looks kinda prone for giving quality scoring chances.
