The Rangers won the stanley cup!!! Oh wait..it was just game one against the Devils Seriously, talk about an overreaction. I hope this ends up with them the same way it ended up with us.

LOL .... NJD shots on goal VS NYR: 6, 11, 4 = 21

Flyers shots against vs NJ:
26 - W
35 - L
31 - L
43 - L
30 - L

this shows that the Rangers team D cut the NJ shots from 33 avg against the Flyers down to 21. no wonder they won. the only Flyers win vs NJ was when they allowed only 26 shots. NJ averaged 35 shots in the 4 wins vs the Flyers.

amazing what a shut down defensive team did to NJ

VS PITT:
28 - W
28 - W
35 - W
36 - L
23 - L
31 - W

Rope-a-dope hockey wins another game for the Rangers. By default, I have to back them over the Devils, though it's like being offered the choice between projectile vomiting and diarrhea for a case of the flu.

So the Rangers are a better team than the Flyers?

I'm pretty sure the regular season standings and 6-0 sweep of the Flyers proved that already.

thanks, i know.

as much as you want another goalie thread, i'm talking about how a shutdown defensive team limiting shots against works wonders.

they won the division, so yes, very good observation.

but i'm pretty sure my point was very clear: amazing what a shut down defensive team did to NJ

So a team that is better than the Flyers is faring better against NJ than they did. I'm just not sure what's amazing about that.

I do find it funny when Ranger fans accuse teams like LA and St. Louis of being "boring"

The first 2 periods of last night's game served as a sedative for me. The ECF is no longer must see hockey for me.

I have refused to watch the Eastern Conference Finals, boring hockey with two very disliked teams.

Bettman has already apologized to the Pens for this unfortunate reality...

As far as NJ vs NY....the league is probably wishing the Flyers and Pitt played in the ECF vs the currrent two offensively challenged corpses...

Funny how the Rangers soft dumps kept Brodeur in net and prevented him from being a factor on the breakout. Only Lilja doing some high chips could figure it out or at least try to adapt.. ugh!

No way Doan should get tossed for that. Lewis turned right into that.

Doan was a tough call.

As for suspensions, I'd sooner suspend Smith before Doan. Smith is absolutely out of control.

Doan shouldn't have been tossed, no suspension there.

Brown being penalized for getting Hextalled was BS

So Carter has choked his way to 2 goals (If that second one really counts, haha)

I'm surprised that his foot/shin didn't shatter on the second one.
