Rangers cant beat teams playing Hockey, so they camp and keep their fingers crossed looking for an ugly goal.

Id take Philly over NY any godamn day of the week. At least the Flyers actually try and play both ends.
Eric "Staahl" plays for the Hurricanes. Changing the rules? Can't play hockey? You don't get the number 1 seed and 2 points off the President's Trophy by not being able to play hockey. Don't be a sore loser.

I agree that it's just 1 game.

I must have slept through the rest of the ECF games. You just had to go and ruin it for me, though, didn't ya? NYR dominated? When does the puck drop for the SCF?

I will say this though, if the Rangers do manage to win it all this year:

a) Rangers fans have can put the 'Devils were boring' thing to rest; the Rangers are just as boring this year

b) The Queen is certainly a product of the system.

(...wait for it...)

Interesting thread....
The Flyers beat the Penguins...
The Devils beat the Flyers...
And the OP feels certain that the Rangers will beat the Devils.
I get it!

Flyers own the Penguins because they're one of the few teams that can force Pittsburgh to play in their own end, which they hate. NJ or NYR don't play aggressively against the pens because they don't have the offense to match up. Why Pittsburgh is so good against NYR but Philly gets owned by them is a mystery to me though.

To the OP: MATCHUPS!
Certain teams are better against certain other teams. Hell, one could possibly say that the Kings could win the Cup, but the Blue Jackets could beat the Kings.

Kris Letang. The Rangers system is based on clogging below the circles and suffocating the forwards. They leave the defenseman open up top hoping the top forward can block the shot. A good puck moving defenseman like Letang can avoid the block by getting a shot thru or faking it and passing it to an open forward on the wing. That is why Mike Green and John Carlson were the most effective offensive players against the Rangers. Flyers' defensemen can't move the puck worth a damn however their forwards can forecheck Letang into mistakes. The Rangers dmen just chip the puck out of the zone foregoing all offensive breakouts preventing the Flyers' forwards from checking them.

Is it only Devils fans that are posting the "its only one game crap"?

The Devils were dominated last night. 4-5 games max this series will go. The Flyers were dominated the whole Devils series, even game 1.

I was hoping for the more intelligent answers like the whole division is rather equal skills wise, but matchups and coaching play a huge part in these series.

Yeah, the Devils sure were dominated. Not like the NBC commentators even mentioned how it looked like NJ was on a powerplay for 40 minutes or anything..

stop trolling, or if you really think that way, stop posting. Through the first 2 periods, that was a very even game, I'd even say most of the game took place in the Rangers' zone.

And even if the rangers swept the devils, you're stupid ">>>" orgy in the OP is still crap. It indicates that the rangers would beat the pens in 99 games out of 100 or something along those lines, while actually the pens could very well win a 7 game series between the 2.

here is a quick rundown of how E Kentucky was better than Alabama (won the national title) this year in college football...

Still want to use this logic?

Ummm. Typically, you have to dominate with that spherical chunk of vulcanized rubber on one's stick. The rangers rather suffocated us in the third with their effective playstyle. Kudos to them. But dominate is a stretch. Getting 36 shots off and having 2/3rds of them blocked is not getting dominated. Kudos to the rangers though for outplaying us when it counted.

matchups have nothing to do with it. even ignoring the fact that any team can beat any team due to how much luck is involved in the playoffs, the pens didn't 'match up' badly against the flyers. the penguins lost because their goalie couldn't stop a puck to save his life. the flyers didn't match up poorly against the devils, they just happened to get goaltending almost as bad as the pens did in their series. the devils aren't a good match up for the rangers, that game was just a crapshoot. it was a very even game, anything can happen.
