Marc Crawford just said Dustin Brown doesn't have a reputation for diving.
Phx, is unraveling. LA fans should relax. You guys are crying on the Doan hit against Lewis. The smith hit was a cheap shot, but not the end of the world. Every hockey player gets a hit like that eventually, suck it up.
LA is going to kill this series.

Brown gets away with the things he does. I'd go as far to say as that it's an art. I also don't bellyache over diving as a principle.
Smith wants to be protected from Andrew Shaw going after a puck, but he's allowed to jump players in his crease and take cheap shots slashing players in front of him and expects to be protected because of Milan Lucic.
You can tell how many people here haven't played hockey when they're calling Brown for embellishment on that slash by Smith. Every gotten hacked to the back of your leg where there is no protection? That's going to leave a nice deep bruise.
Worse than that. It could cause permanent nerve damage.
Gotta say that I think Doan's punishment should be left to what he got on the ice, but Smith's slash was egregious. Dive my ass. Take a good shot to the back of the knee and see how long as keep standing. It's not fun
Yeah, I'd agree with Bobby Mac. The official gave Doan 5 and a game because it looked bad... especially when you only see it once. He definitely shouldn't be suspended as they've been punished for that hit.
Lewis put himself in a bad position. There's no doubt about it. Is it a board? Yes. Did it draw blood? Also yes. Was it mostly Lewis' fault? You bet. I said it before - this isn't how I want the Kings to win.
The other penalties were legit. Smith takes a huge whack at Brown's knees. It's ******** that Brown got an embellishment call. Anyone calling that a dive needs to wake the **** up.
I don't mind Phoenix or LA, both teams are good and I respect both. But I agree with your post.
Like I said earlier, guys need to protect themselves, if they see a player coming, prepare for it, don't get yourself hurt for a power play opportunity.
I didn't see Smith's slash on Brown, but I think it's laughable when refs call diving on a player who just got slashed in the legs.
And if I may use another example from the Penguins. Pens played the blues and Neal got 2 handed in the back of the leg by David Perron, Perron got slashing and Neal got called for diving when he didn't.
I don't know how getting 2 handed in the back of the leg is diving, you can't really embellish that, if someone smacks you across the legs with a hockey stick with force, you're going to fall.
