Strange foot pain

I got a pair of Bauer x50s on sale about 6 months ago, and they fit great. But recently (about 3 weeks ago) I started to get a sharp pain in my right heal every time I skate. Not the bottom of my heal, but the side (Under my achilles). Like I said, It's only in my right skate.

Should I modify my skate? Or would a simple heat moulding help this?

Hard to say. Does it only hurt when you wear your skate or at other times? Does it begin to hurt over time while skating or does it hurt right away?

It could be a heel spur, or bursitis, or tendinitis, or dozens of other less common things. Some may be helped with skate modification, others require more active treatment of the underlying problem.

Aside from accelerating the wear on your skate, why not just try baking them? If it works, great. If not, then you can move on to the next idea.

I'm guessing bursitis, or Haglund's. I've had 2 customers come in with Haglund's and now you're the 3rd person, it's an epidemic!

I was actually researching this a couple minutes ago so here you go:

This sounds like it. Treat it before it becomes an issue. I lost a good chunk of my summer hockey season last year dealing with issues revolving around Haglunds. I had to get my boot punched out near the heel and started wearing achilles tendon pads.
