Petersson and Claesson

It seems like I know everything there is to know about every young gun we have in the system except these two. Could someone give me some info?

Petersson is going to be Spezza's winger for the next 10 years.

Petersson has the best pure shot in the organization.

Claesson projects as a bottom paring defensive d-man I believe. He's also best friends with Landeskog. He's going to the AHL next year.

I love Petersson. He was arguably the best player on Binghamton last year. I think he gets underrated, and has a chance of making the show next year. He's super small, but he plays more gritty than you think. In his games in the NHL last year he didn't back down in the corners, and tried a couple hits. I watched about 10 AHL games last year and he always stood out, along with Boro and Hoffman.

Well from the 2 games i saw in person Claessen has an above average first pass with great control in the defensive zone. Not overly physical like Volchenkov (which were the original comparisons if i remember correctly) but somewhere close to Marc Edouard Vlasic in terms of talent.

Well...They're both Swedish.

Both can speak perfect Swedish.

One would assume they enjoy meatballs.

The both represented Swedish at the World Junior level. At different times of course.

They both will have played for the Binghamton Senators.

Claesson is a friend of Mika Zibanejad and Petersen is a friend of Erik Karlsson. They both have other friends though.

I haven't seen Claesson play much, but I think he was a steal where we took him. There's something about the way he handles, passes and shoots the puck that reminds me of Brian Campbell (he definitely cannot skate like Campbell- I'm not saying that) to go along with a very solid defensive game- shot-blocking, hitting, gap control, postitioning.

I think I was so impressed by his ability with the puck because the initial scouting reports said poor-man's Volchy. He can definitely make a good 1st pass out there.

I watched the Swedish juniors play an exhibiton against the Carleton Ravens a couple of years ago. Petersson took a drop pass on a 3 on 2 and ripped a wrister by an unscreened Ravens' goalie- who used to play in the WHL and was Carleton's MVP- from between the blue line and top of the circles.

Silfverberg was basically invisible during the game, but that may be because he was on Mattias Tedenby's line, and Tedenby was the most noticeable player on the ice.

Silf has improved greatly since then, but I don't know if he's passed Petersson in terms of release.

Petersson was streaky in Bingo last season, off to a very slow start, got hot, trashed the city which then followed in a month long scoring slump..gets bounced off the puck easily so he must rely on his speed..

His 1 game in the NHL was just that..nothing spectacular..

Petersson is a very intelligent player. He is also so perceptive and his vision is elite. This is shown in his astute assessment of the city of Binghamton.

Silfver's shot....

WARNING: Turn off your speakers!!!

Can't find a fair equivalent video for Petersson, but I don't recall ever seeing this kind of a shot in the games and highlights of his I've seen over the years.

I have not seen Petersson since he left sweden but his wrister is probably slightly better than Silfverbergs. Silfverberg has a better slapper though.
