Frolik

Frolik looked good in the playoffs, his skating was amazing and his stick strength great.

What will it take for you to want him as a member of the hawks?

Is there any chance of him in the top 6?

true, he was a beast in the playoffs. i wouldn't really care if he was still on the hawks next year, could do a lot worse IMO. not sure about the top 6 though. that's stretchin it

tough to say. He wasn't really given a fair shot this year, he was kind of treated like Olesz in the sense that he was set up to fail.

While Brunette was just given chance after chance.

It's a tough decision. Which version is the real Frolik?

The guy who was basically invisible during the regular season or the guy who was one of the few bright spots in the PHO series?

He has 20 goal potential and plays strong D, but he has to find a consistent scoring touch. 5 goals a season isn't going to cut it.

That being said, I think it'd be worth it to hang on to him and see if he can carry his strong playoff showing into the start of next season.

Wouldn't mind seeing:

Frolik-Kane-Hossa as a 2nd line next season.

Frolik is a tough one- I agree that he needs to find his scoring touch.... but on the other hand how does he do that when he can't even hit the net?

Absolutely. Hopefully that nice showing in the playoffs entices a GM to take a flier on him.

He did the same thing last year(playoff beast). We were all stoked when they resigned him. Then he did nothing regular season. Like Bubba said, if we can find someone to take him off our hands, dump him!

Right, we have a guy like that already, Bickell. Bickell is better in the regular season, better in the playoffs, and much cheaper. Can't have two guys like that, so Frolik is the odd man out. We need that cap space to make moves anyway.

I like the guy but he's not worth the money here. His shot is god awful, but he always seemed to go at 100% when he played. Just can't bury.

effort is not the problem. He just isn't worth the money/Cap Hit for next year.

Hawks don't need another undersized winger on the team, no matter how effective he was in a couple playoff games.

Frolik's cap hit is too much for a player who only shows up in the PO's. With what's happening around the league, we need to make sure we make the PO's first. Frolik did not help there, and needs to be dumped for cap space.

Dump him for cap space. Can't have him in the lineup with other small guys like Kane and Kruger.

Bowman would have to admit the mistake of signing him though. That's the problem. He's never traded anyone he has signed or drafted and he talks those guys up the most, even when they don't deserve it.

The Hawks don't spend to the cap so I don't particularly care about his cap hit.

You're right, we just want them to change that so we can being a doormat for the rest of the West come playoff time.

Frolik improved his defensive game and can contribute to PK

His play in playoffs again show the potential he has offensively ,,, Again the Bickell-Bolland-Frolik line showed up

This past they started off strong ,, Strugged and then were broken up for rest of year

I think the chemistry those 3 show is worth another shot (+ I expect both Bickell/Frolik will be back)

I also find it interesting that everyone eles's struggles (Keith , Hammer , Kane , etc) gets blamed on coaching ,, But Frolik's struggles dont?

Frolik never gets top 6 chances , Never gets PP time , And spent most of 2nd half on 4th line ( A role he doesn't fit at all)

Keep him as 3rd line winger and continue to work on his defensive game and allow Bickell/Bolland and him to continue as a unit or give him a top 6 chance A legit chance not like end of 2011 season when he was playing C on 2nd line with Kopecky/Hossa ,, He is not a C

It was only one year. They were still spending 7 million+ on Olesz and Huet.

Good for them. I don't give a damn if they spent 14M on Olesz and Huet, means nothing to me if a non-Wirtz owns this team, makes me angry to even read Hawks fans posting garbage like this when a Wirtz does own the team.

Strangely I still like Frolik. I'm baffled how he always manages to not score goals...but overall I like his game.

Frolik struggles because he isn't good enough for a contender. He is not a Bottom 6 player but he isn't good enough for the Top6.
Frolik does not get a chance in the Top6 because he isn't good enough - and he got his few chances were he wasn't good. He never gets PP time because he was scratched for most of the time and hasn't deserved this PP time.

Frolik for 2+ is waste of Cap Space. Frolik for 1.5 or less would be good. I'd try to trade him to the Canes or Ducks. They could use him

I really think Bowman thought he was going to make some big splash at the deadline. It didn't work out and you get left with unused cap.

Better that than spending up to the cap at the deadline on a contract that cripples the team moving forward. You can't have it both ways where you don't want cap hell, nor do you want some space left over.
