Overachieved all year. If they played like this all year they'd be a ****ing .500 team. They can't ****ing score more than 3 goals ever. They weren't even good defensively this game. They looked like utter dog ****. Sick of it. Every ****ing chance they get to get a two game lead they blow. Embarrassing.

Really would like to take this series in 6 at the most

IMO, you never play your weak defensive lines in the last three mins of a period and the first three mins of a period, unless you have an offensive zone draw.

Rangers let one get away tonight, but it was that pompous moron behind the bench who rides the coattails of a ALL Star goalie that is the primary culprit.

I think it's much more a fault of the fact that there were 3 terrible blown coverages that led to the goals. Tortorella made some very questionable decisions, no doubt, but every Devils goal came from a terrible blown assignment.

Typical Game 2 loss.

Our primary scorers will have to play a lot better than they did tonight. Gaborik did more harm than good, Richards was invisible, and Callahan has been a black hole on offense for some time. It doesn't help that some of our depth players such as Prust and Boyle are playing like garbage, and Anisimov is insanely inconsistent from shift to shift.

And what Gaborik did wasn't a boneheaded mistake or a dumb play, which is what Bickel did (who, by the way, should not be playing in the 3rd period)... it was a lack of effort. Two lazy plays were made on that shift. There's no excuse for that.

This.

This team, for whatever reason, when they have an opportunity to make a simple play to get the puck out of the zone, just don't.

The Devils are not invincible, but if you don't make smart plays, they're going to hurt you.

Gotta love the Rangers D coughing the puck up back the Devils at the point. Dumbasses.

Kreider=only bright spot to this ****show.
More like he made a bunch of mistakes and not even mistakes more like half *ssed plays. Only one led directly to a goal but the guy was terrible all night. At least 2 other times he avoided contact and waved at the puck and allowed the Devils to keep it in their zone.

Its not a lapse in defensive zone coverage. Our players are TOLD to move the puck out of the zone as quickly as possible. If the opposing team Dman intercept it, so be it, our wings are in their shooting lanes.

It isn't on the players, its directly on the coaching staff.

At the rate the Rangers are going in their own zone, I can only hope that one day, the NHL will realize how much ad revenue they're losing by ruling no TV timeouts after icings.

Marian Gaborik was put on earth to skate and score, not win board battles and block shots. Sometimes he has to do those last two things but he can't be relied on to do them well. I'm sure he tries his best. Brian Boyle is the opposite. The coach's job is to put those players in positions to succeed at the things they are best at. John Tortorella may be deficient in this regard. If you're going to bench a 40-goal scorer in a game you're losing in the third period you may as well scratch Boyle and Mitchell from game 3 because they didn't score to tie the game tonight.

got a bad feeling we're gonna look back at that late 2nd period goal as a season changer. i was saying to myself just get to the 2nd intermission up 2-1 and we got this. awful loss, had absolute complete control of the series in our grasp, and now we're in another dogfight. this team is tired, devils wont stop attacking, got a bad bad feeling about these next 2 games at the rock.

I'm so sick of Brian Boyle. He kills our "transition" (or whatever we have of it) so easily. And you'd expect a 6-7 man to DOMINATE along the boards. Stupid penalty by him. But we all know what will happen. He'll probably play 20 mins on Saturday. If Kreider does that, he's playing with Rupp and Mitchell.

i hate to say it but he has a point. I mean gabby cost us a goal because he didnt want to get hit. Now if he was contribuing on the offense then it wouldnt be as bad but he hasn't. Not clearing cost us the game. the biggest positive is kreider is playing with great confidence and will help our offense. Brodeur is lucky because krider could have had another goal off the post

First pass out of the zone killed us all night. Inexcusable to get pinned late in the 2nd period.

Can't bench Gaborik, he looked pretty good until that defensive breakdown in the 2nd. ****ing idiotic.

When the Devils are winning every battle along the boards Tortorella has to let the defenseman carry the puck out of the zone a bit. They know it's getting chipped off the glass every time and are keeping it in the zone. The Rangers' D carried it out only a handful of times the entire game it seemed.

I get frustrated with him too, but I never see you anywhere but Gaborik threads or posts about him...

Is it just me or are the devils the masters of subtle hooking, holding and interference? Exactly what made them so effective during the trap days...

He's not Marion Gaborik...he's done everything except score in the last 9 games
