WINNER: Masai Ujiri When the Lakers, Sixers and Magic couldn't work out a three-teamer, that led to this moment:

Ujiri [on a conference call]: "So lemme get this straight … you're asking me to flip the Afflalo/Harrington contracts and a future protected pick into one of the league's best defensive players and someone who makes me even more athletic and more defensively frightening? [Prolonged silence as he repeatedly pumps his fist.] No, I didn't hang up, I'm still here … "3

WINNER: Nuggets fans In less than two years, they went from watching a moody ball stopper who didn't want to be there (Carmelo) to an entertaining nucleus of Ty Lawson, Andre Iguodala, JaVale McGee, Danilo Gallinari, Kenneth Faried, Wilson Chandler, Andre Miller and … (wait for it) … Timofey Mozgov! Love the defensive potential, love the athleticism, love the mix of personalities. That's a nice team. You pull the Lakers and Oklahoma City out of their conference and they'd be right back in that thing.

The lakers are a Hell of a team. Like damn. Nash, Kobe, Pau, Artest, Howard as a starting five? Nash its going to have a field day passing the ball.

Oh yea, they also have one of the best sixth men in basketball in Jamison, who can score in bunches off the bench. Makes a nice replacement for when Artest goes cold shooting.

They are better than the heat. This team would abuse Miami down low if they played a series. Dwight Howard is the great equalizer.

There are three big question marks with this team:

a) will Nash get to play his game or will the whole team be centered around Kobe as per usual, Nash and Howard could be a nightmare to defend on pick and roll

b) how will Howard blend in with their offense

c) Mike Brown

Nash and Howard will be unstoppable on the pick and roll. If Kobe can put aside his ego, the team should be built around that with him as the shooting option.

Yep, but I can't see that happening, he's like Mike when it comes to his ego.

There is never a valid comparison when it comes to Kobe and Michael. MJ made his teammates better. Did/Does he have an ego? Hell yes he does, but he is the greatest to play the game. When the Lakers lose and he has a terrible game, Kobe blames everyone but himself.

Kobe has only won when he's had a good big man with him, and that will continue to be a stain on his "legacy"

I never said Mike and Kobe were similar in anything other then their ego's and I still stand by my statement that they're similar in that regard, both want to be #1's on their teams and they aren't afraid to make it clear to everyone else. Mike was obviously the much better player of the two.

Kobe needs to get over himself quick, because the Nash/Howard pick and roll can be the best combination in the league.

So apparently things are um... not going so well up in Fort Collins. Apparently their new stadium might fall though as there is not near the amount of interest from investors as previously thought. This is troublesome, because if a new stadium doesn't get built it may be about time to start reconsidering the long term future of the program up there.

I hear you. I didn't mean to make it seem as if you were making a comparison. I am forced to work with Laker fanboys who constantly say that Kobe is "1 away from being on the same level and 2 away from being better".

Those guys just don't get it, Kobe has never won anything without a talented big man. Jordan won with an aging Bill Cartwright and Luc f'ing Longley.

I leave Pippen out of the equation because Kobe has had players of similar stature with him numerous times with the Lakers and still never won without the Big Man.

Let's not forget he wouldn't even be in LA if the (then) Charlotte Hornets didn't trade his draft rights to them.

Remember when I said I don't expect much power from Trout? I take that back I didn't expect this much power from him, I'm impressed.

Another thing I like about Iggy is he seems the rare kind of NBA star who will be happy in Denver. He has to be appreciative that he's out of Philly.

Just watched Blue Jays pitcher Steve Delabar strike out 4 guys in one inning.

Pretty cool!

Has only happened 61 times before in history and first time ever in extra innings.

Jason Hunter tears his triceps out at least 2 months. Not ideal, but I thought Ayers would pass him again anyways and we have a lot of capable d lineman
