Vatanen should go a long way towards helping us get past the loss of Schultz. Lindholm too, for that matter.
Agreed. Schultz and Gardiner were tough losses but Vatanen and Lindholm are perfect replacements. Everyone talks about how brilliant Trevor Timmins is, but I truly believe Martin Madden may be one of the best scouts in the league.

It's hard to argue with the results. There isn't a whole lot to see at the NHL level, just yet, but there is a lot of evidence to suggest the Ducks have drafted very well recently. It's a little disappointing to me that some mistakes, and dishonesty, have cost the Ducks, but hopefully we'll be able to look back and see that the good far outweighed the bad.
It bothers me a bit that the coach is sheltering Vatanen defensively a bit. I understand why, but I'd kind of like to see how Vatanen does when there's more pressure against him defensively.
AHL needs to get their **** together. Box scores not showing up and really ****** video feeds, you would think they would be able to afford some reliable servers and better cameras.
If there's one complaint I have about Vatanen, it's that he doesn't shoot enough. He needs to use that cannon of his more.
I think he could afford to use his teammates a bit more, prior to crossing the blue line. I've seen two rushes where he actually took away passing options because he held onto it until he crossed the blue line.

I imagine the hesitation will fade as the season goes on.
