Wow, 26 posts and no mention of Kirk Maltby?

I thought everybody outside of Detroit hated that guy?

7) Jordin Tootoo
6) Matthew Barnaby
5) Matt Cooke
4) Tyson Nash
3) Sean Avery
2) Steve Ott
1) Darcy Tucker

Thoughts? Did I forget anybody?
List must include Maltby. Superpest good enough for three world cups, a world championship or two, plus a job with Team Canada at World Cup. Not to mention consistent top 10 in voting for the Selke.
He should be #1 on the list

How? By faking injuries? That does not make a pest.

Ruutu should be in the WWF

I still remember the game Crawford kept putting Ruutu on the ice when ever Forsberg was on, and Forsberg absolutely lost it!

well, Forsberg considers Ruutu to be the best pest in the game. he actually (despite their on-ice antics) has nothing but praise for him when interviewed about him.

i remember during the season Forsberg was on a 7 game point streak (in which he had 13 points) and people were saying that it was impossible to contain him. then they played the Canucks, and he went up against Ruutu. that night: 0 points, 2 PIMS, and a -1 in a 3-2 loss.

Malts prob doesn't get mentioned because he is a heck of a player on top of being a pest. I think what makes him so good is the fact that he draws a ton more penalties than he takes, and along with Drapes forms probably the best defensive tandem in the league. I've also never seen another player as succesful as he is at throwing his head back whether it be because a stick was up near his face or because a guy threw a punch at him. In terms of players I hate though Ville Nieminen and Jordin Tootoo are prob the pests I despise the most.

You just described a "superpest". Maltby is a pest, plain and simple. Players with skills can still be pests.

If Maltby was with a different organzation, I would hate the guy too. But he is OUR pest, so he is cool. LOL

All time agitator is Claude Lemieux. No one in the history of hockey has been hated by so many people. How many team fueds did he create? The Dallas vs Detroit rivalry was all Claude.

Currently the best agitator is Sean Avery. He gets under the skin, fights his own fights, and can post a point or two.

The Dallas vs. Detroit rivalry had nothing to do with Claude Lemieux.

Avery and Ruutu are the two best pests on my list. Varada's really good at pissing people off and looks like a KGB agent. Danton was also a good agitator because he was crazy and didn't fear anyone. Nash, Barnaby, Tucker, Maltby, Cooke and Nieminen complete my top 10 list.

As a Sens fan I have to mention Martin Havlat. Havlat is obvioulsy an offensive winger more than anything else but he is a really dirty player with his stick and he gets really anoying for a lot of players.

Well hopefully most of these players will be a thing of the past when the instigator rule is thrown out of the rulebook in the new CBA.
