Chicago Package deal for a center

If the Hawks offered

No.18 overall
One of Pirri/Beach/Lalonde
And one of Stalberg/Frolik/N.Hjarlmasson

What center would you send the other way?

Would you deal Saad + 18th for a center?

I'm not sure about this particular package, and there are serious (NMC) obstacles to a deal, but...

Danny Briere?

Don't worry, this looks like an ongoing project to figure out, who is the best center CHI can get without giving up a core player or an actually promising prospect by that user. I am still trying to think of a situation, in which someon given the choice between Stalberg/Frolik/Hjarlmasson choses Frolik.

I know it would cost a little bit more, but I think it would be definitely worthwhile for the Hawks to set their sights on Derek Roy. You've gotta give to get, and they'd definitely be getting something worthwhile back.

With Roy coming off poor year and being 1 yr away from FA that is too much IMO

2nd + Pirri or 2nd + Kruger would be more accurate of value IMO

Get ready to be flamed by Sabres fans... and not anyone else.

Brent Burns returned a top prospect, a young top-6 NHL forward, and a 1st--with one year left to UFA.

It's a tough comparable, given age and position, but even if you think Roy is "just" a 2C, I don't see how his value is a fraction of that.

I can't see Buffalo moving him now for less than a (late) 1st + a good prospect / NHL player. Paul Gaustad got a 1st as a rental UFA, after all.

Eh, that's not awful. I'd think about that. Maybe if we moved someone for a late first.

Brooks Liach from the capitals? Solid 2/3C or 2*W; He's a quote machine and would be great for post game interviews if you sat him right next to Toews.

I am all kinds of in love with Laich, if you'd let me cap dump something your way in return, I'd totally give you Jordan Staal for him, because Laich is awesome! *hearteyes*

With Plekanec, Eller, Desharnais, Gomez & a possible Grigorenko/Galyenchuk, you'd have to think the Habs will move a center or two.

Plekanec would be amazing for Chicago, but I have no idea what it'd take to get him or if the Habs have any thoughts on getting rid of him
