So How Many European Players Sign in the NHL Next Week?
There's a few that already seem like done deals
-Joonas Jarvinen with Nashville
-Viktor Fasth with Anaheim
-Leo Komarov with Toronto
-Mikael Granlund with Minnesota
Then there's a few others who teams will likely be interested in, but no teams are confirmed
-Jonas Holos of Norway had a good tournament but probably doesn't want to go back to Colorado.
-Patrick Thoresen of Norway had a great tournament but has a year left on his KHL deal
-Frederik Andersen of Denmark has to sign with Carolina before June 1st or they lose his rights.
-Karri Ramo of Finland has a year left on his KHL deal but Calgary might want him to come over now
-Petri Vehanen of Finland has rumored NHL interest, with some suggesting Pittsburgh and Detroit are in the mix.
-Jesse Joensuu of Finland had a big game against the US and is still the property of the Islanders.
-Lasse Kukkonen of Finland has NHL experience and has looked good
-Ole-Kristian Tollefsen of Norway looked like an NHL defenceman in this tourney. Does Detroit still own his rights?
-Sergei Shirokov of Russia had his rights traded to Florida last summer.
-Janne Pesonen of Finland came over for Winnipeg's training camp last summer and really impressed me as much with his offence as his needling of the opposition with punches and scrums.
-Reto Berra of Switzerland was a well-regarded goalie his draft year.
-Tobias Stephan of Switzerland looked really good at times and has played in the NHL
-Damien Brunner of Switzerland is rumored to have several teams after him including Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh and Detroit.
Then you have other players that didn't even play in the tournament like Vladimir Tarasenko of St. Louis and the uncertainty of whether or not he's coming over and soon-to-be UFAs like Cristobal Huet who might like to get back to the NHL.
