They probably did warn us. I honestly remember nothing. Those were some good drugs.

The guy who did my wisdom teeth told me weed would help. Ended up getting a dry socket. Thanks for nothing, assh*le! (well, thanks for a little)

Ah yes...the joys of having the wisdom teeth pulled. Had it done when I was 19. The only thing that I remember from that day was waking up alone in the car parked outside Walmart while holding a stuffed animal. True story. I looked around for a minute or two, and then it was lights out again. Apparently my mother ran in to get the pain meds filled, and figured I wouldn't wake up till we got home.

My experience was absolute hell, but it wasn't from the pain that was the problem. I've experienced worse. It was my anxiety disorder that threw me into a tailspin from it. But my brother, he cried after having his done. And he never cries. It's different for each person. There are horror stories, but I honestly thought of it as simply being a little uncomfortable for a couple of days. And that's after they had to dig deep into my gums to pull them out. If it wasn't for my anxiety, I would have breezed through that experience.

Bull Durham is a great baseball movie. But damn.....can't deny Costner's hotness in the 80's. It's criminal. I'd give up hockey for Crash.

Sorry. Had to "girly up" the thread a bit.

I'm comfortable enough with my sexuality to say Kevin Costner was a good lookin' guy.

Had my wisdom teeth out at 16. They weren't in yet, so they just busted them up, sucked them out, and I was good to go. Was 100% two days later and never had to use anything more than Advil.

The funny thing was a buddy of mine ditched school for some strange reason to tag along and chat with my mom for a couple hours in the waiting room, then give me crap the whole ride home.

I was so dazed after I woke up after getting them pulled that when the person asked what kind of ice cream I wanted I said vanilla....I never would have picked that in a normal scenario

Pulling the wisdom teeth isn't that bad .....but beware the infected/dry socket.

I got my wisdom teeth pulled about 2 weeks before my Jr. year in college ......about a week after school started, I started getting a bad ache in one of the sockets. The pain/pressure got so bad, that at 3:30am I was SERIOUSLY contemplating jamming a toothpick into the swollen area to release the pressure. I managed to make it until morning, and drove straight to a local dentist and had surgery to fix it. Still some of the worst pain I've ever had.

But I do admit that waking up after the initial surgery was pretty funny. The Denist asked if I was ok, I said yep, stood up, and proceeded to fall flat on my face. My mom and the nurse tried to break my fall, but I was 6'3 and 275 #s, so there wasn't much they could do. I do remember sleeping something like 15 hours straight once I got home.

Only weird story from getting my wisdom teeth out (other than doing it the week before finals due to insurance reasons) is waking up thinking I'm okay in a strange room, getting up to find my Dad or someone and finding a nurse who told me to go and sit back down. My response - at least in my head - was "I'm okay" but it came out "mmmsdjsfjgfj" with a lot of drool.

Of course I might have been dreaming that being so ****ed up on painkillers but it's a memory. Fortunately didn't have any issues with dry sockets or anything.

I actually never had wisdom teeth but I made up for it by not getting one of my permanent teeth. I ended up getting braces twice in my teens (because they screwed up the first time) and major jaw surgery to get a fake tooth put in when I was 20. Thank God my mom works for an oral surgeon.

I had a very weird wisdom teeth experience. I was 16 or 17. I remember leaving being on meds and seeing two of everything. I went home and slept for probably an hour. After a couple of hours, the back right started bleeding. I called the dentist to let him know I was spitting out mouthfuls of blood every 20 minutes or so. He said it was normal and that I just had to keep gaus (spelling...) and pressure on it. So, I did what he said but continued to spit out mouthfuls of blood. After awhile, I was touching around in the back of my mouth and felt something. I thought maybe it was what was causing the problem. I pulled on it and the next thing I know is that I was on the ground. Apparently, I had passed out. I was rushed to the hospital, got IVs, and they had to suck out a blood clot that was the size of a small apple core that was preventing the wound, if you will, to clot/close appropriately.

Even after that, though, I never had any pain, swelling or anything. I was eating fine in a few days. No dry sockets so just one effed up clot caused some scary moments.

The best tip I got for minimizing the swelling after getting wisdom teeth out was to put a green tea bag in luke warm water, pull it out, wrap it up in a layer of paper towel/gauze then put it in the back of your mouth. Worked like a charm and never swelled up.

Congratulations.

Meanwhile, I drove for 3-4 hours straight last night as a designated driver. The problem is that mate's car has a really hard suspension.

My back hurts like hell right now, I'm starting to suspect it's the tailbone that's causing it instead of a vertebrae. Oh, and my throat hurts, wearing shorts at +5C is not a good idea. At all. Especially if you have no socks. I'm no Cody Lundin. Lungs hurting too, coughing occasionally. Really painful this morning, but it's bit better now. Oooooh, and job interview 12.30pm tomorrow. Yay.

BTW GS, what were the runner-ups for the title?
