I guess what I meant to say was that while now wisdom teeth extractions are commonplace, I predict in the future they will be much less common.

(Also, I still have my tonsils as well as my wisdom teeth, so I reckon I'm a bit biased. Don't want people thinking I'm some kind of freak )
Wisdom teeth removal can't be compared with tonsils, as most people's mouth just can't fit them. They come in facing sideways, pushing through neighboring teeth, or even impact in the jaw etc.

Most people have to have them removed...there are exceptions though.

Funny how it comes along at different times though. Mine at 16, my girlfriend just had hers done at 28, Talon at 4???

I didn't need to get my wisdom teeth removed until I was 26. The only reason why they had to come out (only had 3 come in) was that the lower jaw wisdom teeth had fused with the jaw bone due to compression issues.

Locals don't work on me very well and the dentist doing the extraction didn't believe me. One broken dentist chair, three wisdom teeth and chunks of my lower jaw bone later...

/shrug

Jesus.

I didn't go under for the surgery because I do not like it. So they just numbed me way up and went to town.

Three out of four of my wisdom teeth were impacted. Meaning they had to saw through bone to get to them, break them up and then vacuum them out. Frickin' monkey genes.

You wanted to be awake?! The hell, man.

I demanded that they knock me out. I didn't want to see/hear/know anything about what was happening. I got dizzy when the dentist started describing the procedure. I'm a pansy when it comes to doctors and dentists, though.

I'm intrigued. Care to share your anesthesia experience?

They tried to sedate me with gas for a surgery and instead of going under I ended up having a panic attack and freaking out about being drugged. Then they had to do an IV drip to finish it off. Don't know what happened.

My favorite anesthesia story is when I had to have a muscle biopsy done...

They thought I was under. I wasn't. Right after they made the initial incision, I piped up and said... "This would go a lot smoother if you would sit me up so I can watch."

Talk about a freaked out operating room... Anesthesiologist had a full on panic attack.

They sat me up, switched to a (a lot of it, too) local, and I got to watch them take a 1" thick by 6" long chunk of my right quadriceps out. I was fine until they went to cauterize the internal bits since I am very smell sensitive...

Another was a time in high school where an ER doc wanted to press charges against me. He didn't believe me when I told him that locals don't work and he proceeded to sew up/repair the middle finger on my right hand which was almost severed.

I guess docs don't like being strangled...

Oooow **** my tailbone hurts. And I still have some sort of cold and throat/lung infection. Well, at least I made it to the interview and it went quite well I think. Stay tuned for updates in Thursday.

The trip back was pure agony though. Jeans + long sleeved shirt and it was +23C in shadow, plus the sun. I had to take a bus first, then two trains and the final bus until I reached my destination where my friend picked me up from. And all the time I was coughing every once in a while and had a bit of a runny nose, too. It sucked. I'm really glad we decided not to change the engine to his car today, I think I might've deceased in the process.

My wisdom teeth story involves going to a Cinco de Mayo party high on painkillers while everyone else was drunk on tequila. There were babes too, there may have been a baby there - who knows?

Boom.

These are in my basement:

It's so funny watching the lady dog try and play mom. She's so concerned about them and just sits and pants due to nervousness. The boy dog wants to tip the box over and create havoc.

Well, I can't have sex because of my back, hurts too much. Want to hear more?

It really is painful, it's just constant pain, sometimes worse than normal. Only thing that helps is really laying down.

Oh, and I'm turning 20 in two weeks and I'm already walking like someone 50 years older than me. I really hope I get to see a doctor soon... I just hope it's not permanent. The backache I mean.

I will never accept being the designated driver again if everyone decides they need a ride on 15min intervals. Injured back + 3-4 hours of driving + way too hard dampers is not a good combination.

When have we ever had adult conversation around here?

I'm starting to think we need a special photoshop thread on here. We've got some creative people, and if this upcoming season plays out like last season...we can at least try to laugh at some of our misfortune.

Yes? No? Maybe? Thoughts?

We had one sorta... that was where the Church of Yeo avatars were born.

Also we've had adult conversations around here... remember that time we blew Fel's mind talking about porn?

Tonight is night #1 with my Dynasplint for my elbow. I put it on and it's suppose to slowly help increase my reduced range of motion. Here's a little information on it:

http://www.dynasplint.com/joints/elbow/

Also, I shouldn't stay up late tonight because I've got a big day (by summer standards) tomorrow.

Job interview at Target at 9 a.m.
Physical Therapy for my elbow at 2 p.m.
Job interview at UPS at 5:30 p.m.

Don't care if I get the Target job or not but I really want that UPS job.

Speaking of adult conversations, overheard someone say "tuggy" today for the first time in a long time.. I laughed pretty hard.
