Prust elbow on Volchenkov (1-game suspension)

Dirty brutal COWARDLY elbow to the back of Volchenkovs head...helmet nearly popped off and I'm surprised he wasn't concussed.

Prust elbow on Volchenkov

Suspension coming. No attempt to make contact with his body, threw an elbow to the back of his head.

Maybe the NHL should just get rid of minor penalties altogether. Trips, elbows, highsticks, etc...
From now on every infraction will require at least a 1 game suspension.
FWIW, missed call, 2 minutes elbowing.

Right, ignore the clean intent to injure...

Dumb play. No reason for his elbow to be anywhere near there. He should be suspended.

5.

Or are we back to the good ole playoff rule book where the idea that one game is enough when they have been handing out 3 games for everything all season long which is a bigger punishment because the players lose pay.

One is despicable, he should of gotten a major and ejected, to give him one would say you didn't even think he was due for suspension if he got the major.

This. Pretty much identical to Hagelin's elbow on Alfredsson earlier. Should be 3 games if Volchenkov is hurt, one game at max (probably fine or nothing) if he is not injured.

Prust and the Rangers are lucky because that one should have been a 5 min major and that was during the time when the Devils had complete control of the game.

Dumb play by Prust. Clearly suspension worthy. I don't know what's going on with him this playoffs. Prust has been a dependable, hard-nosed but not over the edge player for the Rangers the past couple of seasons. His IQ seems to have dropped a bit during these playoffs.

Very lucky not to have been called for a major there. And also, Volchenkov doesn't look so good since the hit. Seems a little wobbly out there.

Yeah, I don't think we'll see much of Prust the rest of this series. (By choice of Shanahan or Tortorella)

Volchenkov trying to break Prust's elbow with his helmet. Vet savvy move.

I'm more concerned with outcome of this game as refs CLEARLY AFFECTED it and that elbow was missed by all 4 of them. Nothing will be done just a mistake as usual, right?...
