Sean Marshall, you are terrible.

Edit: Allows 2 runs, gets pulled from the game. Arredondo gets the final out. Yankees lose.

Did not hear about the error correction. Good job by the MLB ****ing up some more stuff.

Lind was put on outright waivers..WOW how fast things happen. Any team can pick him up, but if he isn't he's taken off the 40-man roster. He's basically a Triple AAA scrub now. Huge! I could see Cooper or Vlad being called up soon.

It might've been a mutual thing on their part. He doesn't want to sit in AAA if another team is willing to give him a shot, and the Jays don't want him to just be a malcontent in Vegas if they're not sure if/when he'd ever come back to the bigs. So they decide the best thing is to give him an opportunity for a fresh start if there is such an opening out there somewhere.

Heyman is also reporting that AL Exec has said "no chance he gets claimed".

Welcome to 1st base Edwin.

Wow, what a series of events. It was probably a mutual thing yea.

Just remember, they did the same thing with EE. I think someone will pick him up though.

Wow, didn't think I'd see Lind on waivers....

On another note, that Bud Light Lime Mojito they were giving out outside the Rogers Centre tastes like carraway rye bread....

Really? I would think that a guy who is a couple of years removed from being a sliver slugger award winner would be claimed by someone. He does have some talent in him, there is no doubt.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was claimed. Especially seeing as how Rios got claimed...

2 years at $5M left, plus something about a guarenteed $3.5M owed to him afterwards. I'm a bit fuzzy on the details.

Only a wealthier team can afford that risk, I'd say.

I thought the team that claims him only pays a small portion??

Yeah Lind's tenure as a Jay is basically coming to an end. He's had one good year and he is like 28/29 so that season looks like a fluke and Lind might be nothing more than a AAAA player now.

I hope somebody claims him just so we can get rid of his contract.

He's owed a decent amount of salary (10-12M) and he doesn't even look like a major league caliber player anymore. I have no idea why any team would be insane enough to claim him. He is just not that good and his 2009 season was a fluke. He has little plate discipline, can't hit for much of an average, is a platoon player at best, declining skills against righties... all he can do well is hit 25 or so homeruns but his slugging has declined as well because he doesn't even hit doubles anymore.

He has 2,666 PA and has a career .773 OPS which is a well below average 1st baseman/DH.

Rios could play a premium position and had multiple good seasons before having one bad year. In that bad year, Jays put him on waivers and White Sox saw an opportunity to buy low, it didn't work out but it made some sense to claim Rios.

No, that's hockey. In baseball if you claim a player on waivers, you take on their entire contract.

Went to last nights game and sat in the 200s, such a sweet outing by the Jays.

Went today as well and sat 5 rows up in the 100s and MAN WAS THERE EVER NO LEG ROOM WHATSOEVER. I mean, I'm 6'7" but the 100s have NO SPACE FOR MY LEGS. My knees are still killing me.

I'm going to the game tomorrow and I'm dreading sitting in the 100s again unless I'm sitting in the aisle.

I only ever sit in the 100's and have never felt like I didn't have enough space. I am not 6'7" however so that's not something I have to deal with.

I'm not really up on how some baseball salary stuff works but does Lind get full pay being in AAA or does he now go onto a minor league contract.

Nope, he still gets his original pay. The PA would never allow something like that.

Just wasn't 100% on it. I didn't know if it was the same principal they used in the NHL or not but I didn't believe that to be the case. Thanks for the confirmation though.

i think he gets claimed by the brewers, after gamel tore his acl they have been looking for a plug @ first. plus the fact that lind is decent on defense helps because their infield is horrid. also brewers can afford the salary.

OT I was watching the end of the Red Sox-Phillies game and boy is it ever tough in Boston right now. They barely hung on for a 7-5 win. That whole team is on a whole new level when it comes to "fragile state" just getting one out seems to be such a big issue especially from their BP which has been atrocious. Their saving grace right now is Aceves..lol Love it

Won 7 of their last 9. That team isn't anywhere near as bad as their early season struggles suggest.

They are still pretty bad though, their BP has got to be one of the worst in all of baseball, until they fix that they're not going anywhere. Hoping they out slug everyone every game isn't going to work.

Papelbon was asked about facing his former team after he got the save on Friday, his response " It wasn't like I was facing the Yankees or something" LOL

And after today's dominant performance by Morrow, the Jays are now #1 in ERA in the AL when it comes to the starting rotation, sitting at 3.33

They really killed themselves moving Bard to the rotation. He was a dominant setup guy, and a promising closer.

When they made the move to get Bailey I thought that they should have given Bard the closing role and focused on acquiring a proven starter... or just gone out and bought one lol
