I'm looking forward to watching this one on MSG. Does anyone know if anymore Pack games will be broadcast on MSG? Anyhow, Let's go Pack!
This game should be interesting seeing how the defense is pretty depleted at the moment. Lampman had to see a back specialist and will miss tonight's and tomorrow's games (apparantly, his shoulder has been bothering for a few weeks now) and Liffiton (right shoulder) is day-to-day.

If Hollweg remains healthy...

I think he has a spot in the NHL as a fourth liner. He absolutely punishes guys out there, brings a lot of energy, and will make a nice energy guy. He's starting to surpass Murray in my mind, but to be fair, Murray did start the season injured.

Frig yes!! Where has that shot been? Balej from Nycholat. Balej absolutely pulled that out of his ass, almost impossible angle to score from, not to mention he roofed it off balance, with a rolling puck.

1-1.

No problems with MSG.

Ryan Glenn is in the lineup from Charlotte (although he played last night too)
Gernander is playing D tonight.
Lawson is in the lineup for the first time in a while.

Gillies played a whole 1 shift and is gone for the game blocking a shot off his ankle

My guess is Rawlyk to be called up for tomorrow. I doubt they would play Gernander at D in back to back games. Anyone know when Grenier is due back?

As much as i love him and want him to succeed...Lundmark is a -2 and only has 3 goals and 3 assists in 14 games...damn

Wouldn't be surprised to see Gernander back on D tomorrow. Charlotte is in Texas and the Pack have one more game before the break (next game is December 26th) and Sam and JD implied that was the reason that Lampman wasn't playing, because of the break coming up.

I missed the third period...

but I think I heard Lundmark's name once...it came up right before the puck was taken away from him in front of his own net. Aside from that, he appeared to play somewhat sparingly and was quite invisible.

I only saw the 3rd period--and didn't see or realize Balej had scored--and thought Lundmark was average (he did make a nice play in OT to get back and break up a two on one). I thought Balej, on the other hand, looked completely lost in the 3rd period. He might as well have been figure skating out there.

The play by Lundmark was a Lazy play and we were VERY lucky to not have been called for a penalty...80% of the refs would have called that...he clearly hooked the 2nd guy on the 2 on 1 and by hooking him he pulled up to him. If that was in the 2nd the ref would have called it...also thankfully the Ref was a very conservative one tonight. But it wasnt a good play.

Lundmark sucked, and Balej was decent. Balej fought for the puck, and scored a nice goal. Lundmark showed little effort. He wouldn't go hard into the corners. He wouldn't take or throw a hit. The kid is a waste. I've had a low opinion of him, and every time I see him it gets lower.

Hollweg and Murray played tough hockey. They will hopefully fill up 2 of our 3rd/4th line slots when the season starts.

So true.
And (not to be negative) another injury. This time it's Gillies and an ankle fracture.

I also thought that Nycholat made some good plays on Balej's goal. He won a couple of battles for the puck and made a nice pass to set up the goal.

It seems like every time a game is on tv I'm doing something else and can't watch, dammit. And of course tonight I had to miss Balej's goal, they're so rare it's sad when I miss them.

It was so funny watching the shoot out with my 6 year old cousin (who I've turned into this little baseball and hockey fan) because when the Pack players scored she threw her hands up in the air and went "Yesss." I was so proud. My very own protege lol.

The team played well. This was a hard fought game between two evenly matched teams.

The only negative was Lundmark. He just has no drive out there. It almost looks like he just wishes he wasn't playing in the AHL anymore. But that's the harsh reality for Jamie with little alternative because he hasn't done enough to merit playing in a good European league.

The Jamie I saw two years ago in CT was great and played hard all the time. He had much more desire and used his skills well. That Jamie looked like the 9th overall selection in '99.

The Jamie now sucks and looks disillusioned and doesn't want to battle in the corners and gets taken off the puck with ease. It's a disgrace.

I'd take Hollweg and Ortmeyer over him anyday of the week for our Rangers. They always compete hard. Hollweg was everywhere again throwing checks and forechecking and doing everything. Never takes a shift off.

Balej at least competed tonight. His goal was nice. He also skated harder.

Moore was great as usual. No points but he doesn't need to score to be a factor cause he's always involved. Lundmark should take note.

Wiseman has a lot of skill and great wheels. But sometimes, he is prone to bad turnovers. He needs to work on that.

Our D looked shaky with so many guys out. But they did a good job in the 3rd and OT competing. Valiquette also made several sparklers after that soft backhand goal to Hilbert.

Nycholat played great. That one play where he backchecked twice and forced a turnover creating a 2-on-1 to setup Balej for that tying goal was pure effort. More effort on one shift than Lundmark put forth all night.

On the Bruins side, Hilbert and Toivonen were good. So was Aucoin.

The shootout was cool cause the Pack won. But is that really a fair way to decide a game when two teams put forth the same effort? That's where a tie makes the most sense.

On 'D' Kovy...

I think I can bring myself to like Taylor. He looks so big out there, and moves well. He needs to pick up his physical game, which I hope comes with confidence. Overall, when certain forwards are out there, the defensive scheme seems pretty solid; the font of the net is usually taken care of. But you're right, at times it is shaky and with a few defensemen going down of late, and two going to Europe, it's amazing McGill's been able to hold things together.

With all due respect, it's time Jamie start being referred to as the Skidmark... Watching him recently only confirms what many thought, his drive and determination are non existant...

One instance toward the end of the game, Jamie was skating up the right side on a 2 on 2... once he got near a defender his anti contact agenda kicked into full gear and he just stopped skating and dumped the puck into the wrong corner... his corner, forcing the LW to skate all the way across the ice to apply pressure while Jamie stood around admiring his beautiful blonde hair in the plexiglass.... needless to say the opposing defender simply moved the puck behind the net to the other side of the ice which had been vacated by the LW... by the time the puck was outside the zone, the Skidmark was nowhere to be found...Balej, his RW, was trailing behind the play had to either skate across the ice to cover the LW side, or apply pressure down the middle... neither of which would have probably turned the play any differently... but a prime example of what happens when 1 guy doesn't cover even the basics of his job

The fascination with this guy should be over... he has no instincts for the game, especially offensively... Guy like Moore, Giroux even Hollweg have more raw skill then this clown...

thought balej had a good game...he looks like he's working hard to me but sometimes needs to get a little more involved in the offense...the good thing IMO is that even when he's not scoring, he looks like he's still working hard and contributing *something* to the team. maybe others will disagree but i think he's playing pretty good overall and is starting to put up some points again now

taylor looks big but still really lanky...definatly looks like he could fill out to 245 or 250 or something, but for such a big lanky guy, he does move surprisingly well. looks a little awkward but i was surprised when i first saw him on how well he does seem to move around out there...i don't really see him getting burned cuz he's too slow and lumbering. he doesn't cause many big splashes out there but he's been very solid and just gets the job done. assuming he continues to develop (i dont' see why he wouldn't continue to get better) he looks like he could be a nice 3rd pairing guy

Been saying for a long long time that Hollweg is flat out better than Murray...And will be a NY Ranger because he brings a little bit of everything to the game, not the least wehich is his attitude, energy and hitting..

That being said, I don't think Murray is a bad player either and another probable NHL 3rd-4th liner...If there ever is NHL Hockey in the near future, I would love to see a line of Hollweg-Murray-Otmetyer (HMO Line) banging people into the hospital and chucking in some goals..I look forward to them (and Giroux) much more then I do guys like lundamrk or Balej, although I think Balej will be a real nice, shifty, goal-scoring 2nd line winger...
