Looks like Czech refs did good impression at this tournament. Or maybe sucked less than other refs.

Tomáš Starosta is injured, and I'm pretty sure he won't be playing.

Malkin needs only 3 pts to get into top 10 scorers at 1 single WC, according to eliteprospects. The only comparable performance from modern era is Danny Heatly with 20 pts in 2008 (plus Thoresen this year).

Russia is a heavy favorite. Hope the game isn't a blowout.

All the Finns in the H. Arena are with Slovakia but there might be more Russians...

Anyway, Go Slovakia!

Come on Slovakia! Do it for Pavol demitra! He loved his national team more than anyone!

Good luck to both of you.

Slovakia as a huge underdog. I think I'll root for them.
BTW has anyone said anything about the ice? I've heard Hartwall arena has the best ice in the world.

I've heard it's better than in Globe. Does that say anything? I don't know.

I'm pretty sure this one is going to be pretty tight. Always is between these two, no matter who's on the ice for Slovakia.

If Slovakia wins this, it's close to the miracle of USA beating Soviet Union with a university team in 1980's. Russia is so good this year.

I predict easy win for Russia unless something dramatic happens like Malkin would get injured before he scores any goals (because he will score some, the guy is too sick). I'll say 6-2 (again).

dunno, i always have good feeling about match with russia (anytime we have Z in defense). They seem always so frustrated not winning 3:0 after first.

No it's not, don't try to pull the same thing like match with Norway, Slovakia is one of 7 big nations it's nothing special, surprising that they came to the finals but now it's over, I mean over for good, Russia will kill them

Of course Russia is a huge favourite, but Slovakia has absolutely nothing to lose, they might be able to produce a great, pressure free game, and who knows maybe score early on counter attacks, and then Russia really would have their work cut out for them. But naturally more likely is that the superstars solve the game early on for Russia.

I'd say odds are 90% for Russia - Ovechkin and Malkin are just scary duo. But same odds were for Penguins and Capitals in 2010 Stanley Cup playoffs against Montreal.
