With his playoff success and the winning goal sending his team to the finals, what would you offer for him? I think he's definitely staying in LA with the boys but he definitely brought up his stock, what would you trade for him?
Before his strong playoffs I was hoping we could bring him back to Edmonton for cheap and have him on the third line, second PP and fill in in the top 6 when injuries inevitably happened.
Unfortunately now I think he'll be getting too big of a paycheque to make that feasible.
im not sure if he's a RW or a LW but no matter, habs need a winger and i've long been in the camp that the habs should offer him something this off-season while his stock is low. buy low/sell high, low risk/high reward type of deal.
but now that he seemed that have uncolostomized his head out of his own arse, he may be more expensive that before the playoffs...
His consistency is not an issue, he is just not productive, that's all.
Sorry...I meant that he really doesn't try during the regular season. He's playing his ass of right now, abd netting results. Pardon the pun. But where has this guy been all season? If he played hard and competed all the time is love to have him.

But he doesn't.
But isn't that the whole point? I mean everyone keeps saying that regular season means nothing, it's the playoffs that count. That's why Luongo sucks and won't get a good return amirite?
Penner is like the anti-Luongo, shows up when it counts apparently, but you have to get into the playoffs for Penner to work his magic.
Penner could be this year's Ville Lieno. Parlay a good playoff into his next big payday and then promptly suck. While his playoff performance has been good it woudln't be enough for me to offer him a big contract. Then again, I"m not one of those silly GM's that will surely do that this off season. I wouldn't mind him in Columbus but certainly not at anything close to $4MM. Please god no!

I have felt the same about the Leafs. I thought there was a pretty good chance that Burke thows an offer at him, with his market value at an all time low. But now he just might get some high offers from a couple teams.
I think he is worth around 3 million, and anything much lower than that would have been a steal. But 4 would be too much, and I think he will get that after these playoffs.
I hope no one is crazy/desperate enough to offer him 4+ million, and I doubly hope is isn't a team I like.
As a Buffalo fan, I'd do a 1 year deal for him, and with his playoff performance, probably 2.5-3.0m. Put him on the 3rd line and let him move to the 2nd in case of injuries. No way I'd sign him to anything over a year or he'll be taking over local ihops like it's his job.
Seriously, I hope the Oilers make him an offer in July. I don't think LA has the cap space to re-sign him. But I would offer him a 2-years at 3.25M. He's shown what he can do in Edmonton.
