Why not Crosby play for Team Russia? He is best friend with Malkin so makes sense Crosby would play for Russia

Could Crosby play for Russia? I'm just wondering, since he plays in Pittsburgh (not far off from St Petersburgh). Would he be eligible to play for Russia?

I'm just wondering, since he is not showing up for the Canadian team at the WC- that means he obviously doesn't care about Canada. If he were to switch for Russia, he would be very interested to go to the WC, since all the Russian players love it. And also he is a good friend of Malkin. It would clearly be best for all the parties involved?

I dont think Malkin would want to join to team that doesn't even care about tha tournament its playing. Hes world best player with respectfull motivation, he deserves better and team Russia delivers.
