I really enjoyed the card other than the Miller/CB fight. Not much to say that has been said already other than I thought Texeira looked like a beast out there. With his striking and bjj he could make some noise at 205. I've been waiting for him to come to the UFC for awhile now and he didn't disappoint. He flat out beat up Kingsbury.
Really glad to hear Paul Sassangle won his fight (only one I didn't see) and kept his undefeated record alive while ending Volkman's boring run of wins.
"JDS hasn't fought anyone with Cain's wrestling" should also be quoted for its absurdity, not agreed with.
Cain's lack of head movement and stand-up defense is still a huge factor in a rematch. I have a feeling the odds will be virtually dead even when they come out.
I honestly don't think anyone can touch lesner when he's at the top of his game. he's a beast. maybe a healthy noguerra *sp*
Did we travel back in time to late 2008 or early 2009?

I don't think we saw the real Cain in their first fight and he got caught with a bit of a lucky shot but I think JDS should be the favourite in the rematch. His stand up and takedown defense is too good.
Like others have said, normally I would want a guy to win more than once before he gets another shot at the title but right now there is no one else in the HW division who deserves a shot. Overeem is out until early 2013 and Cormier still has to fight again in Strikeforce once he recovers from his injury. So I'm fine with Cain getting the next title shot.
One of the guys on MMAFighting.com predicted JDS/Cain in September with the winner fighting Overeem on the Super Bowl card in early February. A lot of people don't think Overeem should get an immediate title shot but I could see the UFC going with something like that.

I'm fine with that timeline, although I'd prefer Cormier (or whoever is Strikeforce champ) move ahead of Overeem and allow Overeem a fight before his title shot.
I really don't understand the Cain rematch questioning. The division is a bit of a mess right now with suspensions injuries & false contenders like hunt (he still needs at least another big win).
Cain was looking like the next invincible heavy with his speed, power & top level wrestling. He annihilates almost everyone, smashes Brock forthe title, a star is born.
They chose him to be the headliner of the most important card in their brief history against the only real threat to his title in JDS. The fight starts with Cain effectively landing a good amount of leg kicks, which would have payed dividends. JDS lands a big shot, it happens, it's mma, especially HWs.
The fact that junior had a bum kneed & changed his game plan to go for the kill needs to be accounted for also. That strategy is generally not a good one & will definitely fail more times than not. Without the injury he doesn't consider that.
I wonder if anyone wid have a problem if the great Jon jones got caught early in a fight, lost his belt, comes back and brutally devistates a guy inside the 1st. round receiving a shot at redemption for the belt?
Its going to be a fantastic rematch & I can't wait for it. I think it could go either way.

He certainly did look like a beast. He was like a sasquatch, you heard about this scary beast but never got to actually see him, until now. I loved that he said "I got a green card now baby" or something along those lines, right at the end if the interview.
Any idea how long he has been connected with chuck & hack?

Yeah, but say Cain does win. Does that mean JDS gets to go get a win against Struve, then come back for an immediate title shot?
I guess you'd have to cross that bridge when we get there. Not giving it to Cain at the current moment doesn't make sense & shouldn't be dictated by him having fought JDS recently.
Everything changes by the time that fight goes down, Cormier will be here, werdum will have another win, Reem may be back & a guy like Nelson could win a couple more fights.
Options change everything, write now they are out of them.

Well, yeah I guess he has fought Cain already so you're right there. None of his other opponents were close to Cain's wrestling ability though. You'll likely say Carwin but has he ever had a takedown in the UFC. Cain's much more explosive than Carwin.

I'm pretty sure I remember him training with them as far back as 2006/2007 before he had the green card issues. He's also trained with Marco Ruas who's another badass mofo.

No I agree with you on Carwin, I was only pointing to Cain. I think people dismiss that fight too much just because it was so quick.
