The kongo/hardonk talk is a little insane, IMO. How about we look at how Frank did against Carwin, who throws nothing but power shots and doesn't have anywhere near the movement or technique JDS has.

There is no doubt Mir can win this if it hits the ground. The problem is getting it there, which has been a problem for all Juniors' past opponents. Mir's TDs aren't great, Carwin had troubles & I expect Mir to have an even more difficult time. On top of that, Mir thinks he is an allworld striker & his ego could get him in trouble here.

Im pretty stoked about this event. I have a feeling alot of people are going to tune into this event, the HWs are intriguing. Not to mention the prelim card is very good too.

Hell, Brock dropped Frank twice in his first fight.

Carwin didn't box with Mir, he clinched and dirty boxed, something dos Santos absolutely won't do and probably isn't big enough and strong enough to do.

Two assumptions I'm under that might be ********: Mir's pure boxing skills (head movement, footwork, jabs and feints) are better than Carwin's and that Carwin got tagged early in his fight with Cigano and he looked very much worse for wear after that (been a while since I've watched that one).

Not saying Mir is going to be able to stand up to Cigano's missile punches, just that I don't think tactically the loss to Carwin is that meaningful to Mir's chances in this one.

Mir said he envisions this fight starting standing (obviously), JDS catching him with something, Mir going down, JDS pouncing on him to finish, and Mir locking in a submission shortly after. I'm not sure that's exactly what I'd want to hear if I were a Mir fan.

I just watched an interview Munoz did with mayhem & it looks like Mayhem is finally taking his fighting career seriously.

He's training at Reign and krystoff has taken over his nutrition, first nutrition coach & the first time he's been on a legit team. He's looking more cut than I've seen him in the past, hopefully he rebounds and shows he is an upper tier 185er.

Unfortunately, he started training with those guys in preparation for his fight with Bisping, which was probably the worst he's ever looked in a fight. Hopefully whatever happened in that fight doesn't happen again, because I like Miller (not to mention DISLIKE CB Dollaway..BORING)

Hopefully it was a combination of jitters and ring rust, he was off for quite some time before that fight.

The gassing didn't make sense, he has gone the distance in the past & not looked that bad. Fingers crossed.

Aside from gassing, Mayhem didn't really look all that bad in the Bisping fight. The first round was very competitive until he pulled a Carwin.

Sure is!

Ah I can't wait until Saturday, it's really too bad that the main card got screwed around so badly, but it's still remarkably strong despite all the changes. The under card is almost just as exciting to me, though. Mayhem, Hardy, Barboza, Diego Brandao, Paul Sass etc, really deep card.

Roy Nelson on Mir/JDS, cheating & his intentions to shine a light on cheats in the future, at his own expense if need be:

I enjoy Roys honesty, I'm sure some of things he mentioned won't improve his relationship with Dana however.

Very true & as much as I dislike Bisping, he is a top tier fighter. Maybe it's not all doom & gloom.

I'm torn on this one. On the one hand Roy tends to come off as always whining about this these days, and he strikes me as feeling as though anyone in really good shape must be cheating, because he works hard and he looks like a fat slob. On the other hand, I get real tired of all these guys lying about not being on stuff, so if you want to so vehemently deny being on anything, then you should be more than willing to prove it (at any time). If that means adhering to Roy's request, then so be it. I would be on a continuous crusade to prove my innocence if someone was questioning me. Personally if I were Roy and I knew a ton of guys were on stuff, and I felt testing was easy enough to get around, I'd get on stuff as well. I'm not saying that's the right thing to do, but I'd definitely do it.

I was watching on a really small video on the UFC homepage, so forgive me lol. I looked at it again and Mir seems to have a gut.

Skin and bones really isn't the word I should have used. Dehydrated would be more appropriate.
