Trade Kane for, relatively speaking, a player who is a fair bit worse at his position, and create a big hole in the Hawks lineup at right wing in the process?

No.

Why do people think the hawks want to trade Kane?

Because the team shows a preference for image and marketing over substance at times. Kane's indiscretions, while hilarious to me, make the team harder to sell outside of Illinois.

The losing that results from being a worse team without Kane will make it even harder to market the them.

Had a chance to draft this kid. (though I did like the Beach pick) Like another poster said, there's a couple other forwards I'd trade long before considering Kane.

Now if that were John Tavares, I'd consider it.

In what world does Myers hold anywhere near as much value as Kane? How could anyone think this would be close to fair? Give me a break.

I still believe Kane is a generational talent. You don't trade him for garbage and he has yet to hit his full potential.

Sidney Crosby is a generational talent. At this point, he's the only player currently in the NHL I would say is. He's the most consistently dominant NHLer in the game today, and he's been dominant since he was 18.

I've always said Kane has 100 point potential and he'll be a consistent PpG player.. but I wouldn't classify him as a generatoinal talent. Certianly a talent like Kane doesn't come to a franchise very often.. but generational talent is a bit too much IMO.

This. if anyone on the Hawks is a "Generational Talent" It's Toews, not Kane.

The whole term "Generational Talent" covers a once every 15 years type player. Kane is not that. he's not even the best player on the Hawks.

And this is not Kane hate. I don't want him traded.
