Will the NBA ever have their All Star Game in new cities?
When looking at recent NBA All Star Game locations it seems that the NBA has been going back to cities who previously hosted them.
For example Los Angeles hosted in 2004 and hosted again in 2011.
Houston hosted in 2006 and are getting the next one in 2013.
New Orlenas hosted in 2008 and are hosting again in 2014.
Even Las Vegas hosted in 2007 and they don't have an NBA team.
Now I wish the NBA would have the game in Toronto because they never hosted it, however maybe that window is closed and the best time for Toronto was during the Vince Carter era when he was very popular and the Raports were winning or after they won their 1st Division title in 2007.
So is a city like Toronto ever going to host it or will the NBA go back to the same markets who previoulsy had it?
I realize teams need to bid for them and etc, however it seems like it's always the same cities bidding. I read stories of the Raptors bidding to host it and if that's true they keep getting past over.
I don't get why New Orleans is getting it again in 2014. Was it a big package deal for Benson? If he agrees to buy the Hornets from the league, he gets Anthony Davis and the next all-star game?
Miami hasn't hosted an all-star game since 1990. It's very unlikely that LeBron will ever compete in the dunk contest but I think there's a better chance of it happening if the game is in Miami or a place like New York(MSG).
