Pouring with rain in Newark this morning. Devils set for a 10:15 morning skate at the Prudential Center.

Maybe we'll get some definitive lines then.

This has really been a strange series so far. I can't remember ever seeing a team outplay the other for the majority of each game, yet find themselves down in the series, and shut out twice in three games. Logically thinking, the Rangers just shouldn't be able to win playing like this. Yet they've done it all year, and into the playoffs. So if we're thinking that style will suddenly stop being effective in the middle of Round 3, I think we're mistaken.

Scoring early if key I think. The Rangers players seem to deflate a little if an early goal is allowed (like Game 2), probably since they understand what a hard time they have scoring any goals, so coming from behind is that much harder for them.

The lines look good, this is a must win, lets go Devils!
how can you prove anything without being given a chance. Sykora isnt the reason were down 2-1 but he's not helping the cause much.

Huge game tonight. Let's go boys! We can do this. Curious to see what the lines end up being today. Hoping Josefson comes in with something to prove against his fellow countryman. Can't wait to get there tonight. And for once I don't have to drive over the bridge like a mad man to make the puck drop.

I really like the moves by DeBoer to shuffle the lines and put Josefson in for Sykora.

I thought it was a huge blow when Josefson went down since he was playing well prior to the injury and really solidified that top 9. Hopefully it doesn’t take too much time for him to shake off the rust, but he could play a large role and should be solid defensively even if it take some time for the offense to come. Sykora hadn’t shown much this round, so I like the move to scratch him and keep the 4th line together.

Parise – Zajac – Zubrus has had chemistry and played well in the past, while I really like the potential of Elias – Henrique – Kovalchuk. Will be interesting to see how Elias responds to being back on the wing after a long layoff, but it should feel natural after a few shifts. Elias had had a disappointing series and really needs to get going – hopefully this is the spark needed. Added bonus that we no longer have to watch him lose key faceoffs.

Win tonight and I feel really good about their chances – Devils have already been the better team this series and you have to figure fatigue is going to set in harder on the Rangers given the extra games they’ve played and the heavy minutes some of the players log.

Is everyone hungover or something?

@Ledger_NJDevils: It's unusual that no one is on the ice only eight minutes before the morning skate is supposed to begin

Petr Sykora, likely to sit tonight, one of the early guys on the ice for the optional.
Via TG.

Is this Sykora's first time in the optional since during Pre-season?

When Sykora is not playing, now... he attends the optional.
