I know that this is a little early, but with all the hype building towards the draft, it never hurts to reflect on the talent from previous drafts that will be on display at this tournament. I'm looking forward to it already.

1. Winnipeg
2. Edmonton
3. Vancouver
4. Calgary

those are my predictions.

More teams should participate in this tournament. It's fantastic.

Will actually be nice to see Vancouvers prospects. They all seemed to be injured last year.

Was it Cassels and McCann who had mono last year?

They need to stop making out.

And Virtanen needs to quit hurting his shoulder watching.

Wonder if Vancouver will roll with undrafted goalies again this year seeing as Demko had to be back in school by the time it started

The Flames have been dominant in this tourney for the last few years.

But we are losing Gaudreau, Baertschi, Ferland, Jooris and Granlund up front. So we will definitely be weaker this year.

That said we still have Kanzig and Smith to obliterate the other teams into submission.

Well, we still have Bennett, too and then whomever we draft this year. Also, Gillies will probably participate for the first time, which means we'll probably have the best goalie at the tourney. Carroll will most likely be there, too, to join in the "obliterating".

Pretty sure Ermonton and Winnipeg were the two best last year.

And good luck.

Draisaitl, McDavid and Nurse.

And Smith didn't "Obliterate" Nurse and McDavid in the OHL So I doubt he would do it there.

Yeah, it's too bad we can't see anyone's NCAA prospects in these games especially as there's a few that would be really interesting to see where they match up to their peers in a setting like this.

Did Gillies sign a pro contract already? And the Jets will definitely have Comrie playing and quite possibly Hellebuyck as well, so that best goalie title is up for serious discussion.

Hellebyuck is the best until Gillies proves otherwise... But Gillies is better than Comrie at this point, no question.

TheFlames won every game last year... And they have only lost two games in the past three years... I would say that's pretty dominant

You lost something like 4-3 to the Oilers last year.

I could make an early guess at the Jet's roster:

Ehlers - Petan - Kosmachuk
Lemieux - Copp - Lodge
De Leo - xxxxx - Blomqvist
xxxxx - Olsen - xxxxx

Morrissey - Kostalek
xxxxx - Nogier
xxxxx - xxxxxx

Hellebuyck
Comrie

"xxxxx" spots would be filled with players drafted this year (two first round picks could make it interesting) and NCAA free agents.

Guys like Harstad, Stoykewych, and Freibergs could also see some play depending on how the team views their futures with the organization.

They won 2 and lost one in regulation.

The Oilers won twice and lost in OT.

So nope, that wasn't exactly domination.

True I just checked, they lost to somebody but this is the only good site I found for results, and it doesn't have the scores.
http://vansunsportsblogs.com/2014/09/16/complete-statistics-from-the-2014-youngstars-tournament/

The Flames did go 2-1 last year.

GF/GA/Shots against
CGY: 15/9/59
EDM: 12/10/76
VAN: 8/15/101
WPG: 14/13/106

to me that says Calgary dominated....

Always a fun tournament, and obviously Edmonton with their lottery picks should dominate this year, but the Jets will be just as good to.

Is McDavid going to be there?

My best guess at Canucks roster:

Shinkaruk-McCann-Virtanen
Gaunce-Cassels-Jensen
Stewart-Valk-Fox
Zalewski-Pettit-Grenier

Hutton-Subban
Pedan-Corrado
Cederholm-Clendening

Random Goalies

- Obviously this doesn't include picks from this years draft, but I think it'll be something like this with some of our '15 draft picks.

The record says otherwise.

And the Flames had a bunch of NHL ready players that were physically more mature like Ferland and Jooris.

That will change this year.

That was the jist of my first post. The Flames have been the best team in this tourney for a while now. But they have lost a ton of guys this past year and probably won't be that great this year.
But we do have six picks in the first 80 and a bunch of older guys that have a little more experience.. That should help. And the addition of Gillies in net is a wildcard. The guy could just end up putting up a wall.

Players like Jensen, Corrado, Clendening, Pedan, Zalewski, etc. won't be playing

Anyone with essentially a full NHL season under their belt or 2 AHL seasons won't be there as a general rule of thumb.

I would probably say yes. Its risky though because of tweeners that might want to make a name for themselves by running star prospects.

Draisaitl-McDavid-Chase
Slepyshev-Yakimov-Tkachev (Possibly)
Khaira-Platzer-Roy
Moroz-???-???- Drafted players

Nurse-Laleggia
Betker-Oesterle
Musil-Simpson

Brossoit
Laurikainen
