If some other team wants either player now, I would hope they move on.
Robidas's offense is overrated. He struggles to get shots through from the point. He tries the same move every single time he carries the puck into the zone. He takes it deep, circles behind the net, and then flings it out in front of the net hoping something good happens. I don't see Fistric as the answer to all of the team's problems, but with the current group of defensemen, I think it makes the most sense to try to trade Robidas rather than Fistric. Goligoski, Larsen, and Daley all have better offensive skills than Robidas. No one else currently on the roster has the same combination of size, physicality and meanness as Fistric.

Fistric's ultimate downfall in Dallas, IMO, will be Patrik Nemeth, and I hope GMJN can turn Fistric into a similar return as Grossmann when Nemeth breaks through.

It may take a year or even part of the following season, but Oleksiak has to be the last straw for Robidas. I hope they move on sooner, but I just can't see Dallas moving Goligoski, Daley, Larsen, Dillon, or Nemeth instead of Robidas to make room for Oleksiak.

I have no problem with that as Nemeth seems as if he will be an upgrade over Fistric. If Dallas is going to get a similar return as Grossman, then Fistric needs playing time this season. I don't see him getting that type of return this offseason.

Adam Henrique+Adam Larsson for Loui Eriksson

Just a thought, but is this fair?

Who cares if it's fair? Seriously, neither team would do it.

If we were going into a full rebuild and GMJN had to trade him, is this would be looking for?

While I'm obviously not on board to trade loui, and we all know he's not going to be traded, I'm curious if you guys would make this deal; Its a deal from the fire sale thread that I tweaked.

To STL:
Loui eriksson
Robidas
2nd

To DAL:
David Perron
TJ Oshie
Stewart
1st

I feel like this a somewhat realistic trade that I might actually not be mad about if it happened.

If we were trading Eriksson... probably. I mean, that's 3 top 6 forwards and a 1st. Hard to turn down.

But neither side says yes in reality.

In this hypothetical situation, I would rather try and get Peitroangelo (sp)

As much as I like Loui you have to make that trade, stl loses big there

More speculation about trade volume:

Damien Cox ‏@DamoSpin

NHL people expecting dominos to start tumbling this week. Could be lots of pre-draft player movement.

Uhm, excuse me Mr. Cox, but the Nihlstorp domino has already tumbled.

File this under it's Monday, and I'm sick of talking to vendors.

Jagr is testing free agency. I think it's OK to assume he'll look for a one year deal which means he could be a stop gap in the Top 6.

Will he sign in Dallas?

Is he an improvement over Morrow and/or Ott?

Do you want him?

I think money could be an important part of his decision so I'll go with he will sign in Dallas if the team is willing to pony up the money.

I think he's easily an improvement over those two.

I don't think he's the best option out there. He's 40 years old, but if you run into injury issues it gives you an opportunity to experiment with the prospects while he's on the shelf. He wouldn't be my first option probably, but I wouldn't hate to see him in Dallas for a year.

He is easily an improvement over the 2 of them and could probably be traded at the deadline as a rental if the situation was right

I don't think there's any chance he'd come here. He'll only play for an eastern contender or no one.

I would like to see them try to sign him, but I don't expect he would sign with Dallas.

Don't see him even considering Dallas.

Jackman just got re-signed. Seems pretty comparable to Robidas, which only means that his stock can go up. Maybe just a tad, but still bodes well for us.

Yeah put me in the "don't think he'll want to sign here" camp.

Would be awesome to add him to our top six though, and we could certainly afford it.

Pass on Jagr, we already have Ribeiro and Ryder as horrible defensive players (but high offense), we don't need another poor defensive top 6er.

Can't get younger without giving up assets because no one really wants to get "older" unless they're a mind boggling young team like Colorado...
