This past weekend's episode was one of the better ones in a while. It's getting better hopefully.

Not the golden age, or the 90s renaissance, but decent.

Episode one of this new season is the first time I've enjoyed SNL from start to finish in a long long time. Macfarlene was an excellent host. He can really play host to numerous types of characters well. The Olympic Medalist skit was hilarious. Looked like they were doing alot of it on the fly. The only miss from that episode was the Latino News skit. I was just waiting for it to end, incredibly annoying. Other than that, I'm happy with the direction. Looking forward to the rest of this season.

Not a great way to follow the first episode which was great.

Thought JGL was fine, was just thrown into a bad episode.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a great actor, but he seemed too... animated. He was flopping around his hands way too much. Very distracting.

Yep, bit of a falter after a solid first episode.

It's clear they've gotten the demand to push Jay Pharoah, and I guess he's one of their more talented guys, but he's good at a few things, not everything.

Tres Equis was the only decently funny bit.

Yeah that was pretty meh all around. Can't really think of anything that stood out.

It's really too soon to judge but I'm already not a fan of that Tim Robinson guy. He was in like 4 different skits last episode and was a drag in each one.

He seemed to be trying too hard, or was over confident, came across a little flat as a result.

The short skit at the end tonight of the replacement refs was amazing. Also loved Ahmadinejad's translator.

So am I the only one left watching this?

Last night's was pretty weak I thought. Applegate was basically a Wiig clone. I did like the skit with Odysseus though, all those songs are classic jams

Thought the opening with the VP debate could have been better.

Big fan of Pedrad, her roles as Huffington and Asdghasdglhdad's translator during Weekend Updates have been gold. Easy on the eyes as well

Yeah, no doubt Applegate was a lot like Wiig last night.

I thought she did well but unfortunately they didn't give her a lot to work with. Below average episode.

Pedrad continues to shine.

Kate McKinnon has really impressed me. I'm glad that they're giving her more and more skits as the weeks go by. More McKinnon and Pedrad means MUCH LESS Bayer which is a huge plus. Still can't stand the *****.

No way, I like her too. The terrorist's best friends Weekend Update sketches are absolutely gold.

She's alright, but she kind of scares the **** out of me to be honest. I don't know, just the way she stares at the camera is like she's looking into my soul and getting ready to eat me.

Pedrad is definitely the #1 female right now though.

Yeah, she's rapidly become my favorite female cast member.

You've got to be a bit wacky to stand out on that show.

A lot of female cast members do their impressions and supporting characters but aren't the focus of the sketch.

She did a fantastic job as the woman who "improved" the Jesus painting on Weekend Update.

Do you think when Jay Pharaoh does the skit where he's the principal of the school (Booker T. Washington High School, maybe?) that they don't tell him what he's going to be saying before he gets on the mic? Because he loses it a lot during that skit, and he's usually pretty composed otherwise.

I think I read somewhere that that's how they get Bill Hader when he does Stefan on Weekend Update.

It always calls to mind skits featuring Horatio Sanz and Jimmy Fallon. I loved how they would just try and make each other laugh. My favorite one was the "Jeffrey's" skit with Sean Hayes and Will Ferrell.

I still enjoy SNL, think the cast they have right now is very solid. Think out of the four featured players McKinnon and Cecily Strong will become repertory players soon enough.

Aidy Bryant really hasn't done much, and I don't really recall Tim Robinson doing much either.

I don't really care for Bayer or Armisen, but the rest of the cast I enjoy the majority of the time.

It's based on his real life HS principle or something, and it's really funny. Pharaoh and Killam are great additions to the cast. Bayer on the other hand, is terrible.

Don't you have lists to complete?
