Francis Bouillion and his 5'9'' 200 pound frame is one very tough guy probably tougher then Keith Tkachuk who's like 6'3''and way bigger. Bouillion is very strong too and tough as nail.

I'll make this a Hat-trick. THEO FLEURY.

The toughest little SOB to play under 5'9''. You'd have to see his Calgary Flames days to i guess realize that. His last season as a Ranger he played 82 games and had 216 penalty minutes...dude's a monster for a lil guy.

Why am I the first person to put Ted Lindsay down here?

Steve Sullivan.

TSN lists him at 5'9, 155, but that's a stretch. He may be 155 pounds, but he is no bigger than 5'6.

Gotta admire guys who can make it to the NHL with such small frames.

I think Pat Verbeek has to be included here.
Currently, gotta go with J. Tootoo at 5'8.

No one's put Scott Walker!?!

He's listed as 5'10, but there's no way he's that tall. Early in his career he was listed as 5'8, but somehow he's grown a few inches in his 20's!!!!

Marcel Bonin. 5'9, 174 pounds, and spent his offseasons wrestling bears in a touring circus.

That's a good list. I agree. I'm sad Fleury is "From the Past."

Really sad

Yeah I miss Fleury a lot too, great little sparkplug, probably wont get into the HOF now.

I'd have to say that other tough guys under 5'9" would be Yvan Cournoyer. He's remembered most for his blinding speed, but another thing is that he got knocked down by the biggest guys and just bounced up like he was a jack in the box. He was strong, strong in the waist and legs.

It's only because of Fleury that the rest of them are even playing IMHO.

what the hell do you mean, "Actual players" The four you list from the past are 10 times the player you list as actual players. You meant to say current, didn't you?

Finland's legendary Simo Häyhä was the toughest little (5'3 at best) sniper in history!
