In addition they are both RFAs.
Are you nuts?

Goalies are an overrated position IMO, good ones are constantly coming and going, it wouldn't be too difficult to find a decent replacement via UFA (Vokoun) or trade.

But of course this will never happen and you'd obviously need a good idea of what you could get as a goalie replacement before you pulled the trigger. But, Bergevin has emphasized the importance of goaltending and how much he likes Price.
I cannot believe what I'm reading. The worst trade proposal. Ever.

The best Edmonton would get from us is Beaulieu and our 3rd overall for their 1st overall. It makes sense to Edmonton. Imagine if Beaulieu AND Murray made the team, this year, in Edmonton ? It would completely change the face of their team. Those two defensemen with huge upside would complete their forward group.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about it too much. They'll get the guy they obviously want at number 1, and it isn't Murray.

I think Edmonton would trade the 1st pick just to avoid having to take the guy they really want (Murray) 1st overall. Their dilemma is that they can't slide too far or they won't get Murray. They're probably pretty safe dropping to #3, so the question becomes how anxious are they to get out of the 1st overall position, and what do they need to placate their fans that they got enough?
I ignored the rest of the meathead responses. This was simply my point, the two seem like ideal trading partners. If you look at the proposals, I included some ??? What is the point of trying to make an exact proposal, obviously more would have to be added to one side or the other in reality.

Fact remains:

Mtl needs a legitimate offensive threat
We have reasonable depth at defence
Edmonton probably wants Murray, but will take Yakupov as the best player available
Edmonton needs both a defenceman and/or a keeper

Few other teams would have the ammo to jump up and take the first overall.

PS: Price a franchise goalie? lol. I know he has trade value, but honestly, I would rather have Budaj as a starter.

I'd trade Subban + 2nd rounders + scrap (Weber or Diaz) for the 1st overall

I'd trade the 3rd overall + Beaulieu for the 1st overall

But don't stretch it

No use having offense if you don't have a goalie. Anyone wanting to trade Price knows nothing about hockey. You do not trade Beaulieu and 3rd for 1st. Maybe Ellis or Pateryn can be traded and throw in Kristo as he may not sign anyways.

Gorges + 3rd overall for Yakupov

Me and 2 of my friends last night were watching TV, and we happened to see Yakupov's epic interview after doing his physical tests. So one of my friends suggested this: Gorges + our first pick for Oiler's first overall pick.

I wanted to know what you guys think about that.

Eugh no...Yakupov is not at the same level as a Stamkos...

Losing Georges would create a big hole on our blueline while not solving any real problem in our forward group.

cant trade Gorgest right now hes too big of a part in our defense . maybe in 2-3 years when some of our prospects are ready for nhl .

i would trade our 1st one of our 2nd rounders this year and weber for 1st overall

oilers move back 2 spots and gain another 2nd and young defensemen who can help them right now. weber will probably do great on that sick powerplay the oilers has

The difference between Yakupov and Forsberg OR Galchenyuk is not big enough to make that trade. Gorges is a very valuable d-man and a leader on the team.

NO TRADE !

I really don't see why all the love for gorges. He's ok but not that great and is replaceable easily.
