The Ducks also need a q'back for their PP, one to setup Fowler. They moved Vishnovsky & lost out on Schultz.

For Bobby Ryan I would offer Desharnais(2nd line center), Kaberle & a prospect(like Kristo).
I value players of Plekanec talent, work ethic and leadership qualities.I'm sure the GM's around the league would be climbing over each other to sign Plecky if he was being traded.Sometimes people need to sit back and evaluate their own players as a neutral body to appreciate the value of their own teams players,at least that works for me.

Tomas Jurco heads the list. Talented, 6'2". This 19 year-old plays big and has a history with Gallant, now the Habs' assistant coach.

Johan Franzen is a player that would immediately fit into the Habs top 6. A big, goal-scoring LW. Just what the doctor ordered. The downside is the at 33 years of age, Franzen may simply be too old to be useful by the time the Habs can put together a contending team.

Jakub Kindl
is another player I would be interested in. Young, physical d-man. Not quite ready for primetime but he may be on his way.

Is there a deal in here somewhere?
How about Kristo and Kaberle for Jurco? You think this gets us in the door?

Done in a split second, not sure if the Wings agree but they get help with Kaberle and still get a prospect back. Definitely interesting

The Wings would never move Jurco for either Diaz or Weber. I wish they would...

I don't see the point. You're basically giving away Kaberle.

How do you know? Both guys have NHL experience and are NHL ready. We're talking Jurco here not Brandon Gormley.

Jurco is a better prospect then Kristo and we dump money on the cap and have money to spend next summer

The Habs would likely have to juice up the deal. Let's say:

Kaberle
Kristo
Nashville's 2nd rounder 2013

for

Jurco.

Suddenly, it seems like a lot which means Detroit might actually entertain the idea for a second.

Alternately, imagine a world with a healthy, effective Markov. And a rejuvenated Tomas Kaberle. (I agree all this requires a very active imagination.)

Mid-season deal:

Markov
Kristo

Jurco
Detroit's 1st 2013

I wouldn't add the pick, take it or leave it for them.

Mid season deal will all depend on how Markov and the Habs are doing. If we are in a playoff position, Markov isn't going anywhere. If the Wings do start the year like this, the 1st losing streak they get that's when a call should be made to unload

Any difference between Jurco and Kristo is negligible. I prefer keeping Kaberle and trading him for an actual asset, I'm sure at the deadline we can get something good for him, or maybe once the best UFA defensemen are gone.

The Markov deal is really an impossibility. If he and Kaberle are playing well, the Habs should be in good shape in the standings. As you pointed out, the Habs would never deal Markov under those circumstances.

Markov could be a part of trade deadline move if the Habs are out of the picture.

Jurco is a much better prospect then Kristo, IMO. Something about Kristo game makes me sceptical as to how he will make out in pro hockey.

Jurco is a very talented guy with a bit of physicality to his game. I'd love to add him to our pool of forwards.

I have seen a lot of Jurco in junior and he is nothing special as an NHL prospect. A nice guy to add but his numbers are inflated playing on a powerhouse junior team(see Gagner and SK)..

Beaulieu, Tinordi, 2 1sts and Pk Subban.

Maybe take out Subban if there's uncertainty about him re-signing.

Just curious, what would it take for us to land Jonathan Huberdeau from Florida?

If we get him, we will have one of the best, if not the best 1-2 centre combination in the future with Galchenyuk and Huberdeau.

Nashville might not have a choice if Weber doesn't sign long-term... they can't afford to lose him for nothing

Predators would probably ask for Subban, Galchenyuk and a 1st... so no... price would be too high for us

Ryder, Halak and a 2nd should do it.

You're right, that is way too high for us. If MB pulled something like that, Habs fans would turn on him quickly, no matter how good Weber is.
